We are looking for reliable, energetic, experienced baristas, with a love for people and coffee to join the Cafe UNITED team.

The position will entail coffee, espresso, tea, beer, wine and food service. Interacting with our customers is essential to our brand.

We would like our team members to be creative in their approach to the position as we want our cafe to celebrate ALL people.

Responsibilities

Ensure consistency and quality with serving our products and services.

Take food and drink orders from customers and process payments

Prepare and serve high quality coffee drinks, tea, beer and wine.

Follow operational policies and procedures. Especially those for sanitation and safety.

Assist with restocking inventory and supplies.

Create an inclusive environment.

High level of communication to team members and customers.

Qualifications

Knowledge and curiosity about coffee and cultures.

Previous barista experience is necessary.

Skill in creating espresso, coffee. tea, beer and wine beverages.

Outgoing with strong interpersonal skills.

The ability to stay calm under stress and other pressures.

Ability to relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds.

Creative problem solving skills and ability to multi-task.

Essential Job Functions :

• Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
• Promote and follow company initiatives
• Greet customers, answer questions, and suggest product to enhance service and meet sales goals
• Maintain cleanliness of customer service area and equipment
• Prepare a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and Coffee of the Day to standard

Minimum Position Qualifications / Education :

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus six months of experience in customer service; or combination of relevant education and experience
• Minimum 16 years of age in AK / 18 years of age in OR & WA / 19 years of age in Idaho
• Ability to pass drug test
• Ability to complete Initial Store Training and pass barista certification with a score of 90% or better
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work weekends on a regular basis, work any shift and work overtime as needed
• Accuracy / attention to detail
• Ability to organize / prioritize tasks / projects

Desired Previous Job Experience / Education :

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
• Familiarity with industry / technical terms and processes

Our Barista will provide service in our Market, our casual Grab-n-Go style dining option for our guests. This position will be responsible for fulfilling guest orders and preparing beverages in accordance with menu standards while providing a welcoming and clean environment for guests.

PART TIME BARISTA - We are currently hiring for 2 shifts a week (aprox 16 hrs). 2 YEARS minimum barista experience on a manual machine.

LATTE ART ability is REQUIRED - looking for a CLEAN, Reliable, Fun, Self Motivated, Multitasker who LOVES to work the coffee business and EXCELS at customer service!! Looking for a TEAM PLAYER, someone willing to swap and cover shifts when available and is very dependable! This is a small but well established neighborhood shop with lots of regulars.

We also do a fair bit of food, our breakfast sandwiches are very popular and made to order. We are a very busy little shop and are looking for someone who gets excited to see lots of people waiting to be served! This job pays minimum wage to start + tips (Tips 10-15 / hr).
