Michael Baker International is currently looking to grow and enhance our Bridge practice and we are seeking a motivated and dynamic Project Manager to be a part of our Illinois Transportation Team.
The ideal candidate will work directly under the supervision of the department manager and focus on delivering transportation projects for wide variety of clients including IDOT, IowaDOT and other Local Agencies.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise with public works infrastructure projects and proven client relationships. The Project Manager will provide engineering design and oversight in the successful delivery of transportation and public works projects throughout Illinois as well as leading and mentoring project teams in design and plan preparation for bridge projects for IDOT and other state and local agencies.
The Project Manager may also support projects in other states. Responsibilities include :
- Managing a wide variety of complex bridge related projects
- Having a broad understanding of structural design, including inter-discipline knowledge to guide and communicate on large-scale projects
- Take an active, leading role in managing key deliverables (drawings, calculations, etc.) addressing our clients' needs, providing engineering solutions to the harder-to-solve problems, while embracing, advancing, and improving upon our design tools and technologies.
- Ability to perform peer reviews, QA, or QC reviews in accordance with the office or project specific QAQC plan.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate with other disciplines effectively
- Managing project schedules, budgets, invoicing, scope, and client expectations
- Directing, coordinating, and reviewing work performed by internal staff and subconsultant design teams
- Mentoring, training and growing staff in the performance of job duties
- Working with a team of engineers and planners to develop strategies and teaming arrangements to pursue projects
- Assisting in developing pursuit capture plans and short list presentations
- Growing existing client relationships and developing new ones PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum professional requirements include :
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, or similar degree with 15+ years of bridge related design experience.
Master's degree or higher is preferred.
Illinois PE and SE required.
Having a PE or SE registration in other states is a plus.
- 15+ years of progressively responsible experience working on bridge design projects
- Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD bridge design; IDOT & Iowa DOT bridge design standards.
- Experience with Alternative delivery methods is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related programs
- Experience with the design of multiple bridge types in concrete and steel, and knowledge of staged construction analysis
- Experience with load rating and structural analysis software such as AASHTOware BrR, Midas or LARSA
- Knowledge of work-related to delivering a bridge project for IDOT, and other Local Agencies.
- Management of projects involving multiple disciplines such as roadway, drainage, geotechnical, environmental, etc.; and experience supervising the execution, financial performance, and quality assurance of multiple simultaneous projects is desired ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated ability leading and managing the design and detailing of complex transportation structures, with an emphasis on experience and knowledge of the design, analysis, inspection and maintenance of highway and railroad bridges
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians
- Strong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to mentor engineering staff
- Strong client relationships and the ability to participate in business development and proposal preparation is desired
- Demonstrated experience in the management of transportation projects and programs with a successful history of delivery from both a technical and financial perspective COMPENSATION The salary range for this position is $60.85- $100.40 / hour.

Responsibilities :
- Follow printed bake sheet to ensure correct flavors and quantities are being baked.
