ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up

equipment.

2. Follow project instructions from Assembly Department Supervisor.

3. Read blueprints to determine location of items, such as doors, windows, a / c cutouts,

and transoms.

6. Attach insulating materials to framework.

11. Ensure equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly

QUALIFICATIONS :

1. High School diploma or GED equivalent.

2. 1 year of related experience preferred.

3. Basic familiarity of various types of tools and equipment. This position also requires

familiarity with plasma cutters, pneumatic power drills, levels, and tape measures.

Job Responsibilities

The Assembly Manager is a vital role which oversees, directs and coordinates all Assembly / Install personnel in the assembly of maintenance platform components according to specific instructions and established procedures ensuring proper form, fit, function, and overall product quality.

This role is responsible for ensuring the assembly and installation of maintenance platform activities are in accordance with project objectives, priorities and contract specifications.

This position may require travel to lead and perform onsite field installations as needed.

  • Oversee and direct assembly / install team in the assembly, installation and certification of quality aluminum maintenance platforms.
  • Lead assembly / install department portion of daily morning meetings.
  • Review work status, coordinate activities and assign tasks to assembly / install personnel based on daily production schedule.

Conduct safety talks and provide company updates.

  • Digest basic prints, work orders, material processing lists and drawings or document packages to determine critical aspects of design intent.
  • Determine and establish sequence of operations for each job order, based on production schedules, work orders and estimated labor hours required for job completion.

Adjust process and priorities to meet production schedules as needed

  • Receive, unload, unpack, and transfer work material to and from appropriate work stations.
  • Accurately pull and stage hardware for projects.
  • Maintain hardware inventory and assure any special hardware is ordered and packed for projects. Track and forecast supply requirements and report to Management.
  • Oversee equipment to determine safe and operational, perform minor maintenance as needed and report malfunctioning and / or unsafe equipment to management.
  • Train personnel in proper equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Assist with product verification testing and record results.
  • Assist Quality Control with inspection of finished products during the assembly process to ensure they meet company quality standards.
  • Provide documentation on products and systems so all parts are accounted for in when shipped.
  • Organize, pack and load finished product in various environmental contexts.
  • Maintain workflow to fulfill project objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Report progress, performance, initiatives, issues and challenges to Management as appropriate.
  • Determine if corrective actions are needed in order to meet project objectives, and work to have these implemented.
  • Manage the completion of project work orders by assembly / install personnel. Ensure tasks have proper sign-off prior to Management review and are submitted daily.
  • Apply knowledge of assembly / installation techniques, advise and provide support to assemblers / installers and other personnel as needed.
  • Assist overall production effort in following existing, as well as continuously improving, material flow and departmental organization.
  • Assist Management in identifying, developing, implementing, and tracking process improvement initiatives.
  • Actively participates in daily production status coordination meeting with peer departmental managers as well as operations level management.
  • Foster a cooperative and informative relationship among the assembly / install team; develop a team-work atmosphere.
  • Be actively involved in assembly / installation personnel management, including but not limited to hiring, setting expectations, professional development / training, determining and implementing disciplinary corrective actions, if needed, with Management approval.
  • Monitor and track the assembly / installation teams time entry through the time clock system. Review and approve PTO requests.

Review and edit job numbers and classifications where necessary. Submit to Management for review prior to sending to payroll department.

  • Provide performance appraisals of assembly / installation team personnel.
  • Monitor and enforce all company safety policies and procedures. Identify and correct any and all safety violation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area. Keep track of material and keep work area organized.
  • Familiarize and understand all FlexDecks employment policies such as work hours / days, quality standards, drug / alcohol screening, safety guidelines, and all policies outlining employee behavior at FlexDecks facility.
  • Familiarize, understand, and use all standard operating procedures determined by FlexDecks and equipment manufacturers in relation to use of fabrication equipment.
  • Apply all safety measures when working in the shop and with machines / power tools.
  • Interpret and understand dimensions, material types, and material grades on cut lists or drawings.
  • Identify FlexDecks tolerancing system on work orders / drawings and understand how tolerance system affects dimensions, material types, and material grades.
  • Ensure that product standards, both quality and quantity are met.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and further develop and maintain a cohesive team-oriented work environment with all employees, vendors, and customers, and support the company in all decisions.
  • May be asked by management to perform other tasks beyond those listed.

  • Proficient in mechanical and technical skills and experience required for manual assembly of parts and components.
