Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and schematics.
• Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place.
• Install finished assemblies or subassemblies.
• Assemble and attach functional and cosmetic hardware to assemblies using hand tools and power tools.
• Perform functional / continuity tests on completed assemblies.
• May prioritize work based on production schedule.
• Perform the assembly, start up, and function test of equipment systems.
• Troubleshoot systems, make necessary repairs and any corrections to system.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

FACILITY / GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate forklift as needed
• Operate pneumatic press
• Identify problems before production runs, detect any other malfunctions or out of tolerance components / assemblies.
• Be able to adjust machine controls on boxing assembly line.
• Be able to trouble shoot box assembly line and robotic palletizing cell.
• Must be willing to be able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
• Will be required to adhere and comply with API regulations, Company Quality Programs and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent combination of education.
• Some experience in assembly.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
• Must possess basic knowledge of reading blueprints and instructions.
• Boxing assembly line, robotic palletizing experience a plus.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Verifying proper quality documents and other paperwork present prior to starting work.
• Reports any material discrepancies or material defects to area supervisor.
• Completing warehouse reports and machine logs for items completed.
• Communicates with supervisor, planners, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel as needed.
• Operates a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts and other equipment as needed.
• Necessary PPE should be worn at all time per JHA and task requirement.
• Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Lifting 40 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing up to 40

Calibrates instruments, such as gauges, chart recorders, timers, RTD's, pumps, RPM displays, and other devices as required.

Complete required documentation to certify the verification and calibration in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

Assists in the outsourcing of Calibration activities including submitting purchase requisitions and coordinating shipment of department standards to outside vendors and scheduling outsourced calibrations.

Responsible for the timely and accurate input of information into the Calibration Computer Maintenance Management System to ensure regulatory compliance.

Assists in developing initiatives to reduce costs and dependency on outside vendors for calibration.

Able to document all activities in a legible manner following established formats and procedures.

Job Duties & Responsibilities :

• Working under limited supervision, assembles instrument components and sub-components, electro-mechanical and hydraulic well logging assemblies and sub-assemblies, or electronic hybrid circuits.
• May read and interpret detailed schematics, engineering drawings, wiring schematics, etc.
• Duties may include utilizing high or low temperature soldering processes, fitting / mounting, alignment, adjusting, operational testing, and performing repairs.

Qualifications :

Skills typically acquired through 5 years of related assembly experience.

JOB SUMMARY

Locates, visually inspects, cleans, repairs and assembles products such as valves, fittings and gages. Subject matter expert with best practices, processes and internal controls within the assembly area.

Has knowledge of commonly used functional & technical concepts, practices and procedures within manufacturing. Relies on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines, may require independent judgment to perform the functions of the job.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and safely test company products for material compatibility, design life, safety, performance, and maintenance.
• Must be able to read and work from engineering drawings and sketches and have a working knowledge of compressed gases.
• Must be able to work with hand tools, operate test equipment and work safely with high pressure gases and handle hazardous gases and chemicals.
• Is responsible for recording lab data and test results and organizing them into a written test report.
• Develop and build 3D prototypes under direction to meet new market demands. Test for performance and gather data for use by Product and Design Engineering.

Record data and test results and make recommendations based on assembly experience.

Keep a daily record of all tests in progress for the purpose of writing an engineering lab report that draws conclusions, gives results, specifications and other important test information.

The report should include as much information as possible including materials of construction and lab test equipment used.

Maintain good daily housekeeping. Maintain the area at a level that allows for safe testing to proceed. Have equipment and test stands maintained regularly.

Make recommendations for new and replacement equipment and tools.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Graduate, must have minimum of two year technical degree with two to four years experience in Assembly / Test.

Experienced in interpreting work orders.
