Responsibilities
NV5 has an immediate opening for a Department Manager to lead our NY based Traffic Engineering Group in New York City and Long Island.
The successful candidate will lead the traffic engineering group, with a view to growing our regional practice and will be experienced with business development, proposal preparation, mentoring and directing staff, client management and project administration.
The ideal candidate will have an educational background in traffic engineering principles, methodologies and transportation design with experience in analysis software such as Synchro, HCS and VISSIM.
Experience with CEQR process, and NYC and Long Island transportation agencies is also desired.
The Department Manager will lead projects as well as grow and enhance our regional consulting practice. This individual must be capable of taking projects from conception through construction, with a solid background in traffic engineering and operations, infrastructure planning and design involving roadway corridors, streets and bridge reconstruction projects.
Responsibilities include :
- Proposal preparation
- Project management
- Manage and mentor staff
- Technical oversight of staff and projects
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in CE or related field required. A Master's degree is highly desirable
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in Traffic / Transportation Engineering (or equivalent combination of working knowledge and experience)
- An active PE license in the State of NY and CT; PTOE preferred
- Familiarity with NYCDOT standards
- Local project experience highly desirable
- Supervising experience, directing tasks and preforming QA / QC is required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills highly desired for public and client presentations as well as document preparation

The pay range for this position in New York City is $130,000.00 -$160,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate.
Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.

Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and oversight of the preparation and analytical review of financial statements, budgets and other financial reports for all entities.
- Maintain covenant calculations for all debt
- Develop and prepare an executive financial and operational dashboard for executive stakeholders to manage the operations of the entire health system
- Develop and provide oversight of all budget reporting comparing actual results to budget standards.
- Completes analytical review and follow up with department heads regarding all material budget variances.
- Monitors monthly operating statements and develops action plan to address variances.
