Welder / Fabricator / Installer Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Welder / Fabricator / Installer for a company based in New Orleans / Jefferson, LA.

In this role you will use your welding skills to perform an array of welding duties. Pay Rate $18 to $24 per hour depending on experience Schedule and Hours Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm Welder / Fabricator / Installer Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrated skills using MIG and TIG welding processes.
• Welding components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Examining work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Welding separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys.
• Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
• Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
• Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
• Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Welder / Fabricator / Installer Qualifications and Requirements

• GED or High School diploma required, certificate from a technical or vocational school is preferred.
• Understand and apply welding techniques and ability to operate welding equipment with skill
• Steel / Aluminum experience is preferred
• Wire-feed welding
• Mechanical w / hydraulics
• Fabrications with welding and layout
• Adhere to safety procedures and process.

The overall objective of this position is to align, fit, and weld fabricated sheet metal parts of our products per drawing specifications, and insure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.

Apply technical knowledge to review engineering drawings and determine requirements and specifications needed for the fabrication of sheet metal structures of our product.

Follow blueprints and layout specifications to position, align and fit parts for quality and efficient welding

Set up welding machines with the proper wire speed to produce a quality weld for different materials and thicknesses.

Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions and then examine the welds for quality specifications, including proper bead sizes.

Clean welds using hand scrappers, grinders and sanders as required to prepare surfaces for painting.

Manually apply a filler rod to weld stainless and aluminum.

Clean stainless and aluminum weld joints using wire brush portable grinders or chemical baths.

Ensure quality and efficiency by completing the job task faster than estimated hours.

Serve as a mentor by coaching 2nd and 3rd Class Welders
