Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
The primary functions are to layout, fit up, and weld various assemblies to be used in the construction of our air handling equipment.
Set up and operate equipment effectively and safely (welder, torch, plasma cutter, grinder)
Read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements
Size up components and verify they are within specified tolerances
Set up weld equipment for specific task to be performed
Weld components using proper equipment and techniques. Grind and finish welds to make aesthetically appealing
Perform daily housekeeping tasks and preventative maintenance tasks
High level of focus and concentration level to ensure quality work and to avoid safety hazards
Minimum Qualifications :
Must be 18+
Between 6-12 months welding experience
Basic math, reading and computer skills
Ability to pass welding test on material in use
Ability to operate basic hand / power tools and read measuring devices
Ability distinguish the various thickness and types of material
Strong attention to detail and high focus on safety and quality
Physical Demands :
Must lift up to 50-75 lbs. on a routine basis
Stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day
Continuous lifting, kneeling, pulling, bending, etc.

Wastequip Steel Division has an immediate opportunity for a Welder to support our Rosemount, MN manufacturing operation.
The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
Starting Pay - $25.01 / HR
Responsibilities
- Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks
- Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces
- Welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines
- Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
Holds & guides torch at proper angle to cut metal
- Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
- Scarfs or grooves welds and parts
- Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter
- Other duties as assigned
- Employee must regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, lift, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, close vision, peripheral vision, & depth perception
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One to six months of related experience and / or training preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions & decimals
- Ability to understands and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to read blue prints and measuring tape

Job Summary : Looking for an experienced Sr. Production Welder for setting up and running low volume production work. Must be a team member putting forth safety and quality foremost in daily assignments.
This is a full-time position working st shift which is : a.m. to : p.m. Monday Friday. If mandatory overtime time exists, you would come in one hour prior to your shift during the week and need to work some Saturdays.
General Overview of Position
The position of Senior Welder reports to the area Supervisor. Responsible for welding a variety of component parts and assemblies.
Maintain production and quality standards under minimal supervision. This role will be the resident expert for welding, at times working with engineering to answer questions.
Position Responsibilities
- Weld a variety of component parts and assemblies
- Comfortable using the following equipment & tools, welders, inspection tools, jigs, fixtures, pallet jacks and hoists.
- At times, work with engineering to answer welding questions
- Use time clock as required to record time.
- Order consumable parts using order system.
- Work in a safe and clean manner using S principles.
- Stage welded parts and assemblies in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Complete required information for the data collection of yields and efficiencies.
- Using Oracle software to complete WIP jobs
- Package parts as required
- Redline process and procedures as required.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to equipment.
- Other duties and / or tasks may be assigned on an as needed basis.
Position Requirements

- Lays out pipe sections on a jig or table and welds with MIG / ARC welding equipment and techniques, applies cold galvanizing solution to protect welds

Qualifications
