Job Description
The Warehouse Associate contributes to Mattress Firm's success by being responsible for receiving incoming product, picking orders, and ensuring proper storage of inventory.
- Loads and unloads product from delivery trucks and vendor shipments
- Stages deliveries
- Stores all product in designated location
- Ensures inventory is dated and rotated per schedule
- Inspects products for defects and damages when receiving or shipping
- Assists in customer pickups, providing exceptional customer service
- Participates in all inbound and outbound quality assurance processes
- Operates and maintains order pickers and warehouse equipment
- Maintains grounds by picking up papers and trash; cleaning parking lot and entrance to building
- Maintains stock and merchandise area, keeping it organized and clean
- Ensures cleanliness of offices, bathrooms, warehouse floor, truck docks and aisles through mopping, sweeping, and washing
- Removes trash daily by emptying trash containers; transports materials to disposal area; recycles materials
- Cleans and sanitizes product per Company standard operating procedure
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all

Summary
The overall objective of this position is to be responsible for managing operations at one of our established wholesale HVAC distributorships that carry multiple brands of equipment, parts and supplies at Baker.
This role is responsible for managing operations at one of our established wholesale HVAC distributorships that carry multiple brands of equipment, parts and supplies.
The ultimate goal of this role is to function as acting Manager in the absence of the Sales Center Manager and ultimate goal of this role is to successfully manage the daily operations of all facets of the Distribution Center.
Essential Duties / Accountabilities
- Represent Baker Distributing Co LLC as a leader in the industry ensuring maximum sales and profitability.
- Supervise all functions of the distribution center in a professional manner; including scheduling carriers, scheduling shipments, labor claims and freight claims for missing or damaged equipment / supplies.
- Work to schedule shipments to the sales centers, with our carriers.
- Order supplies for the distribution center.
- Schedule prompt and efficient delivery orders to sales centers, customers and vendors.
- Help determine and monitor inventory stock levels.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, safety and repairs.
- Train and supervise a work force including Warehouse, Receiving / Shipping, Delivery, and Fleet Drivers.
- Work on all Company reports and reporting processes.
- Conduct him / herself in a professional and courteous manner in all aspects of interaction with contractors, customers and employees.
- Coordinate Distribution Center training and Company / Center events.
- Manage inventory to ensure proper turns and minimum loss throughout the year.
- Responsible for Distribution Center P&L.
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and leading a diversified work force.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Warehouse
Seeking an experienced warehouse worker to be based at our beautiful Austin location. You’ll work cooperatively with others to move stone slabs for viewing by customers, pull and stack pallets of tile, fill orders for customers, and restock the warehouse.
Safety is our first priority. Prior experience moving granite slabs highly desirable.
Job Requirements :
Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to push / pull / lift up to 50+ lbs
Ability to use and / or learn proper forklift operation
Ability to read and understand order form and serial numbers
Ability to perform basic math functions

Reporting to the Dock Warehouse Manager . The Warehouse Supervisor role involves overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving raw materials and / or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records.
Rotating Shift : 6am- 6pm / Wed Sat (Rotation cycle)
What a typical day looks like :
- Oversees the shipping, receiving and distribution of goods.
- Medical Devise Manufacturing experience
- Great supervisory skills, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ensures orders delivered are accurately and efficiently filled.
- Performs quality assurance checks on all products received before stocking or distributing goods.
- Maintains proper levels of stock in warehouse to ensure maximum profitability.
- Maintains files on all equipment. Conducts routine and periodic inventory counts on warehouse
- Responsible for ordering necessary equipment.
- Ensures sites are adequately and routinely stocked.
- Ensures warehouse is maintained in an efficient, neat, and safe manner.
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of warehouse
The experience we're looking to add to our team :
- Associates degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of materials experience using (MRP) systems
- 3+ years in a Manufacturing Supervisory Position
- Experience in equipment operations ie : Pit Equipment
- Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Exercises judgment using ambiguously defined procedures and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
