Job Description
The Warehouse Associate contributes to Mattress Firm's success by being responsible for receiving incoming product, picking orders, and ensuring proper storage of inventory.
- Loads and unloads product from delivery trucks and vendor shipments
- Stages deliveries
- Stores all product in designated location
- Ensures inventory is dated and rotated per schedule
- Inspects products for defects and damages when receiving or shipping
- Assists in customer pickups, providing exceptional customer service
- Participates in all inbound and outbound quality assurance processes
- Operates and maintains order pickers and warehouse equipment
- Maintains grounds by picking up papers and trash; cleaning parking lot and entrance to building
- Maintains stock and merchandise area, keeping it organized and clean
- Ensures cleanliness of offices, bathrooms, warehouse floor, truck docks and aisles through mopping, sweeping, and washing
- Removes trash daily by emptying trash containers; transports materials to disposal area; recycles materials
- Cleans and sanitizes product per Company standard operating procedure
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all

JOB OBJECTIVE :
This position is responsible for working the inside sales counter, accurately receiving product into the warehouse, filling customer orders, and making some deliveries.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Support efforts of outside sales force in preparation and maintenance of job quotes, stock list quotations, folders, and submittals.
- Assist with incoming sales calls. Price, enter, and pull customer orders.
- Wait on customers quickly and accurate. Display and actively pursue sales for counter specials.
- Write purchase orders to be entered. Enter orders and bids into computer. Process cash sales. Prepare submittals. Coordinate deliveries with the warehouse
- Increase product knowledge of new and present products.
- Check-in shipments and verify material against packing lists
- Use Computer system to update shipping / receiving data
- Accurately fill customer orders for branch location(s)
- Loan / unload materials
- Ability to operate a forklift, hand truck and pallet jacks.
- Stock inventory shelves
- Ability to multi-task, handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
- Deliver materials to customer locations & job sites when necessary.
- PC Computer familiarity

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Lifting 20 pound objects frequently; and 50-100 pound objects occasionally is required. Climbing ladders, stairs, and ramps.

- Work with precise limits and standards of accuracy.
- Adapt to changes, new equipment, and new procedures.
- Participates in unit policies and procedures audits. Production processes maintain at least 95% OEE.
- Participates in near miss / incident reporting and 5WHY / incident investigations. - Lean idea generation and Ruby observations are completed to promote continuous improvement in the formulation units.
- Follows and completes operator standard work for the formulation processes. - Routinely audits / provides recommendations for updates to operator standard work for production processes.
