Gen Warehouse
POSITION SUMMARY :
General Warehouse associates are an essential part of Transtar’s distribution network. They load and unload trucks, move material within the facility and from the loading platform by carrying, pushing, rolling or operating hand trucks, hoists, motorized conveyors, or other material handling equipment.
Picking, pulling and filling orders is an essential part of our business and this position.
This position also requires individuals to stock and maintain warehouse inventory and fill outgoing orders so products are accurately pulled from stock, labeled, boxed and wrapped.
There are many physical demands for this position. Individuals will spend the majority of their time standing, lifting and carrying products and climbing ladders to stock shelves and fill orders.
This position includes a $300 sign on bonus available upon hire.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Pull and fill stock orders for outgoing deliveries.
- Separate, label and verify the count of incoming freight deliveries.
- Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, and labeling).
- Use the computer system to locate products and stock incoming deliveries.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
- Some overtime work may be scheduled and required.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Prior work experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
- Experience using a materials requirement planning system (MRP) such as AS400.
- Strong Computer skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical exam, and background check screening
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in order to accurately complete job tasks.
- Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements.

Assistant Warehouse Manager
Support the Logistics manager and scheduling department with material and asset planning and pulling for upcoming projects.
Help build on system efficiencies and work toward incentivized performance goals to meet long term company growth objectives.
The Assistant Warehouse Manager reports to the Logistics manager.
Warehouse material handler responsibilities :
General Tasks :
- Plan material needs by week for upcoming projects based on pick lists
- Pick and organize material needs for upcoming jobs.
- Oversee support staff for picking and organizing.
- Receive deliveries, bring into inventory, enter intake transactions.
- Process required inventory control transactions according including scanning and cycle counting.
- Process return and excess material and equipment
- Maintain all warehouse and yard conditions in a neat and orderly manner.
- Work with management and co-workers to ensure effective warehouse operations to meet material handling standards.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner and ensure the equipment is in good working order by checking and reporting equipment problems.
- Report on vehicle condition through weekly reports
- Report on tool handling and condition based on checkout procedure
Requirements

Key Tasks
- Maintain an accurate physical inventory.

Responsibilities
Check in new shipments for all vendors every single day.
Put away all incoming stock in the appropriate bin location and ensure all parts put into stock are labeled properly with barcode bin label.
Check in incoming inter-branch shipments from all branches.
Update incoming stock and incoming inter-branch shipment packing slips in computer and generate appropriate picking lists and reports as needed.
Pull customer orders as reflected on picking list and place in will-call, shipment, or dispatch for delivery.
Maintain will-call parts ensuring you pull and transfer to appropriate bin and paperwork associated with order is placed with parts.
Dispatch parts drivers to addresses indicated on the sales invoice or purchase order.
Process and maintain returns by properly pulling all parts being returned from stock.
File freight claims for any shortages or damaged parts received.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
At least 3 months of experience or related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong communication and customer relations skills
Strong math and reading comprehension skills
General understanding of various functions of a distribution center
Ability to lift 60 lbs and work at heights of 25 feet or more
Ability to use a forklift or willingness to be certified within 90 days of hire
18 years of age or older
Warehouse experience and material handling equipment experience preferred
Computer-literate with the ability to learn and become proficient in any software program
High school diploma or equivalent degree preferred
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Warehouse Operator
Description
How you will impact Victory Packaging, a WestRock company :
Moving controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts; transfer materials, unloading, processing, loading and storage areas.
Move outgoing product using hand truck, forklift or other material handling equipment, in accordance with all safety policies, to loading dock.
Receive, sort and place incoming product in appropriate warehouse location.
Document and record any customer returns as required.
Record amounts of material shipped or received in Victory computer system.
Mark materials and product with Victory inventory codes.
Notify Supervisor, General Manager or Office Manager of any product, safety or customer concerns.
Assist with general counting of inventory.
Open all containers, crates or bales as required to sort and maintain stock.
Organize warehouse for cleanliness and safety at all times.
Sweep, mop and perform other routine maintenance.
Maintain all safety standards, including wearing protective clothing and eyewear as required.
Maintain all quality indicators for operations by verifying product quantity / quality before delivery.
Keep warehouse accessible and safe for branch staff and visitors.
Coordinate of last minute or unscheduled deliveries will be necessary.

What you need to succeed :
High school diploma or equivalent
Forklift Certified
One or more year(s) experience as warehouse clerk preferred
Fluency in English required, verbal and written
Basic computer literacy preferred but not required
Physical Requirements :
Perform job duties in severe weather conditions : heat, cold, rain, etc.
Walk for distances of 100 yards repeatedly and without assistance
Lift 75 pounds repeatedly and without assistance or equipment
Utilize all material handling equipment without assistance
