Job Description

- You will have to go through food safety training to obtain and / or hold any required local, state, and / or county required food handling / sanitation licenses and / or certificates.
- You need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
- Basic computer skills are needed for POS system and payroll system.
- You possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- You have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- You can maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward the residents and your co-workers.

The server position at Taste of Smithfield is essential to delivering genuine southern hospitality to our guests. Our servers deliver both our concept and our food to patrons with grace and impeccable product knowledge.

Core Responsibilities
- Greets all guests restaurant and retail with genuine southern hospitality.
- Presents restaurant guests with menus, gives a brief description of what our restaurant is all about, and suggestively sells.
- Communicates customer orders to kitchen staff; ensures orders are assembled properly prior to delivery and verifies customer satisfaction.
- Runs food as it hits the window no matter whose food it may be and assists any guest that may need assistance in the dining room.
- Pre-buses tables and ensures they are kept tidy and completely clear before check presentation.
- Observes principles of safe food handling and service. Follows all relevant health department rules and regulations.
- Processes payments.
- Promotes our retail shop to restaurant guests.
- Promotes our brand with knowledge and pride.
- Responsible for ongoing side work such as rolling silverware, slicing fruit for beverage garnish, restocking condiments on tables, and refilling condiments on tables.
- Performs other duties as required such as sweeping, mopping floors, bathrooms and taking out trash.

POSITION SUMMARY : Customer Service orientated position primarily responsible for delivering superior food and beverage service to dining room guests within the restaurant according to Potomac Family Dining Group and Applebee’s brand standards for timeliness, accuracy, and guest service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS :
- Delivers food and drinks to guests using Applebee’s team delivery
- Interacts verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat
- Greet guests, answer questions, makes suggestions regarding food, drinks, and
- Completes assigned opening and closing side work as
- Presents guest checks to dining room patrons. Makes correct change and / or completes any necessary credit transactions.
- Relays food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system in a timely and accurate manner.

- Participates in the clearing and resetting of the dining room tables using Applebee’s team delivery
