Security Technician I
The Security Technician will provide efficient and high-quality installations related to integrated security systems. This position will require a high level of project involvement, including the physical installation, testing and closing-out process.
Roles & Responsibilities : Serve as the subject matter expert and mentor to assigned team of technicians. Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all Security systems at customer sites.
Installation will include, but not limited to : Video Surveillance systems, IP and Analog cameras, wireless, Access Control panels, Intrusion Panels, magnetic locks, card readers, motion sensors, door contacts, electric door strikes, etc.
Perform assigned projects within scope, in a timely manner, and on budget. Provide customers with system operation and training.
Excellent attention to detail including maintaining concise daily records and following of operational standards and practices.
Coordinate with Project Management and Field Technicians for project scheduling. Required Qualifications : Minimum of 3+ years of experience installing video surveillance / access control systems : Video Surveillance : Genetec, Milestone, Exaqc, Axis, Hanawa, etc.
Access Control : RS2, S2, Lenel, Genetec, Feenics, etc. Intrusion : DMP Exposure to several different security platforms and technologies with the goal of creating cohesive solutions for our customers.
Must be able to work both independently and with a team. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, engineers, PM’s, techs, etc.

Officer will be responsible for promoting a safe environment for guests and associates of the hotel, assisting in maintaining order, enforcing internal rules and regulations, and investigating and reporting incidents involving the loss of property, theft, personal injury, motor vehicle accident, etc.

Responsibilities
- Report and documents any unsafe working practices or conditions, and recommend corrective action
- Monitor, document, and report suspicious activity observed on security cameras
- Identify visitors at associate entrance, issue and collect passes in accordance with procedures
- Control and account for all keys, especially keys to critical areas
- Conduct investigations of all incidents of theft, fraud, violence, property damage, personal injury, unlawful entry, trespassing and any other event that creates a disturbance on the premises or which may result in a claim against the organization.
Create a detailed written report of your investigation.
Observe persons on premises who abuse hotel facilities, intrude into restricted areas, disturb or intrude upon the privacy of guests.
Initiate action to remove such individual(s) from the premises
- Thorough knowledge of hotel’s emergency fire, bomb threat, first aid, and tornado procedures and evacuation plan

- Answer routine questions for directions and handle minor problems.
- Monitoring the entry and exit of personnel at Client Agency facilities
- Observe and immediately report situations to the appropriate personnel, and / or emergency services via telephone, radio or any means possible.
- Immediately contacting local law enforcement or emergency personnel by calling 911 (or 9-11 from a state phone) in the case of : assault, burglary, robbery, vandalism, or any suspicious activities, a seriously injured or ill person like a heart attack, store, or seizure and fire or smoke
- Inspecting facilities to ensure doors, windows, roofs and lights are secure and not defective
- Note any areas where staff is working after-hours
- Report any accidents or injuries
- Report electrical outages, broken pipes, smashed windows and notify proper department to make repairs immediately.

Floater on call manditory days are Thursday - Sunday.
These officers are required to learn and work all sites within United Protective Services of Austin. After succesfully learning, and showing the desire and ability to perform all duties of the accounts, These officers have the ability to become a Field Training Officer, assisting with implimination of rules and regulations at all sites, and training new officers to be succesfully security officers in the field.
Security officers are uniformed and act to protect property by maintaining a high visibility presence to deter illegal and inappropriate actions, observing (either directly, through patrols, or by watching alarm systems or video cameras) for signs of crime, fire or disorder;
then taking action and reporting any incidents to their client and emergency services as appropriate.
