General Description

The DC Security Agent will ensure protection of clients, property and equipment as well as act a deterrent to theft, watch for impending danger and report any suspicious activity they may encounter.

The position is also responsible for supporting and partnering with DC Management, Human Resources and Loss Prevention to promote the overall success of the facility ensuring warehouse security and safety.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Watches for irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and / or ambulance personnel as required.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
  • Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and / or security code violators; approaches suspicious person and / or notifies police as appropriate;

may confront and detain violators, as required, until police arrive.

Additional Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Patrols assigned area examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure security; on foot to ensure personal, building, and equipment security
  • Prepare daily reports on activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, or carrying forbidden articles.
  • Inspect and adjust security systems and equipment to ensure operational use and prevent tampering.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Collaborates with DC Management and Human Resources as needed for overall facility compliance
  • Support CCTV Reviews and Requests as needed
  • Escorting / Directing Customers / Visitors to the proper department

Job Required Knowledge & Skills

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to multi task and handle diverse situations. Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work with little oversight. High degree of initiative and motivation.
  • High integrity and ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Working knowledge of CCTV, alarm, access control and locking systems.

  • Ensures adherence to museum security policies by guests, visitors, volunteers, contractors, and staff.

POSITION SUMMARY :
