WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Seasonal Grassland Steward position is a full-time position. A minimum of 20 weeks of availability is required. On-site housing is available at our Texas City Preserve.

  • The employee will be expected to 1) become familiar with local prairie grassland restoration practices and native plant materials along the upper Texas coast and other parts of the state;
  • 2) learn local invasive plant species and techniques for controlling them; 3) learn and implement a variety of practices for site restoration of native grassland plant communities, including safely applying appropriate herbicides, native seed planting, and establishment monitoring;
  • 4) learn and operate various equipment and machinery appropriate for restoration practices and native seed production; 5) work with TNC staff, partner organizations, and volunteers to accomplish restoration and stewardship objectives;

6) help clean and maintain preserve facilities. The employee may be expected to travel to various locations in the greater Houston area, sometimes overnight, and may have opportunities to travel to preserves and conservation lands along the Texas coast.

May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.

Requires considerable physical exertion and / or muscular strain.

POSITION SUMMARY

UBH of Denton is seeking a dynamic and talented Registered Nurse to work for a TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT (duration is 14 weeks).

This position is a NON-BENEFITS POSITION. The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process.

Duties include : assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care;

administer and / or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; to ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.

NOTE : Candidates employed by any UHS facility within the last 6 months are not eligible.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience : A min.imum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.

Licensure : Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements : Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.

HOURS / SCHEDULE : This is TEMPORARY 14-WEEK ASSIGNMENT. The first two weeks will be orientation. Then work (3) 12-hour shifts per week for a total of 12 weeks with flexibility to work day or night shift.

Weekend Day shift is 7 AM - 7 PM. Weekend Night shift is 7 PM - 7 AM.

HOURLY RATE : $60.00 per hour

We are looking for a dedicated Seasonal Surgery Technologist like you to be a part of our team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Surgical Technician, you will assist in the cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite, as well as participating in the care and cleaning of operating room equipment.

You will perform in a sterile field and assist the surgeon by providing instrumentation appropriate for the task. You will provide care for the operative patient before, during, and after surgery.

  • You will perform patient care within the scope of training of the operating room technician and under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN)
  • You will prepare patients, equipment, and operating rooms for each procedure / surgery
  • You will maintain a clean and safe operating room suite for surgical patients
  • You will perform intra-operative management of assigned procedures and anticipate needs of the surgeon
  • You will assist the circulating nurse in maintaining correct instrument counts
  • You will be responsible for supply and equipment management, including determining needs, ensuring availability, and maintaining equipment through proper sterilization

What qualifications you will need :

Experience

One year of previous experience as a Surgical Technologist

Education

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Graduate from an accredited education program for Surgical Technology, OR graduate from an appropriate training program in the US Armed Forces or US Public Health Service.

If not meeting the above requirements : previously employed to practice Surgical Technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009, OR is in the service of the federal government performing duties related to that service

Licenses and Certifications
