Responsibilities
- Obtain new accounts by leveraging Broker relationships
- Meet or exceed annual business plan as measured by new business premium and case count
- Maintain prescribed monthly activity levels including broker calls and quote activity
- Manage the sales process for Life, Accident, Disability, Absence Management, Accidental Injury, Critical Illness
- Manage renewal process for existing business
- Ensure profitability of new and existing business
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Highly motivated with excellent organizational skills
- Self-starter with ability to work independently or as a team to achieve goals and objectives
- Financial savvy and understanding of underwriting
- Excellent presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills
- 50% travel required (predominantly around the metro area mostly day trips with occasional out of town / out of region travel)
- Ability to obtain necessary licenses within 60 days
- Acceptable driving record

S. Walker is seeking an experienced, polished professional as our Sales Representative (Manhattan / Brooklyn / Queens) to take his or her career to the next level.
Responsibilities :
- Strategize with sales manager on monthly sales and merchandising objectives; Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales growth in line with stated overall sales goals
- Call on accounts and cover daily routes by creating an established and efficient routing pattern
- Develop new business and maintain existing Customer and trade relationships; Analyze account base to identify opportunities and discuss product needs through a relationship-based approach
- Ensure maximum brand visibility within accounts by maintaining account account KPIs as determined by management and using effective and current point of sale materials when appropriate
- Hold weekly in-person review with each customer account for items to be replenished; Present all current programs, goal items, and company initiatives;
Quote prices, answer customer questions about products, and emphasize product features
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations to customers by balancing the company’s priorities and customer’s needs to include selling displays, merchandising, menu concepts, new products, well and back bar placements, drink and wine lists, and in location promotions
- Maintain customer records, prepare sales materials, and submit orders for processing; Communicate with Management on all sales opportunities / concerns, inventory levels and out of stock situations due to possible fluctuations in demand;

- Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information
- Stay current and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of wine varietals and international wines in addition to all M. S. Walker products, including current prices, vintages, regional identity, awards and press- establish personal industry networks.
- Educate customer and account staff on priority brands by administering educational staff training seminars
- Remains informed of company / supplier activities and updates by attending and actively participating in weekly sales meetings
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Requirements
- Successful completion of a customized, paid 3-4 week in field training and immersion to learn MSW sales process
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in fine-wine wholesale distribution and / or importing, specifically in the Manhattan / Brooklyn / Queens areas
- Superior wine and spirits knowledge combined with a commitment to continuous improvement in all facets of our business.
- Effective self-management skills, specifically time management and territory call planning
- Goal oriented; strong work ethic; positive mental attitude; team player
- Outstanding relationship building and selling skills a must
- Excellent organization, follow-up, and communication skills
- Existing account relationships in the New York City area
- Ability to walk, sit, stand, reach overhead and lift up to 45lbs
- Valid driver’s license required
- Industry References (at least three)
Salary :
The salary is commission based with an earnings range of $50-200K
