The Project Manager serves as the point person for specific projects within the Product organization portfolio, responsible for managing the product lifecycle of large initiatives, from supporting the development of business cases through the rollout of developed products to clients.

The Project Manager is accountable for the success of the product by working with the business and technology teams to optimize business value and customer satisfaction.

You will

Manage all aspects of a moderately complex project or multiple, medium-scale projects. This includes project planning, execution, people management, timing, functionality, quality, communication and cost.

Provide sound, pragmatic and result-oriented direction to project teams.

Manage project risks and issues; maintain mitigation and contingency plans.

Identify and manage necessary resources and ensure they are assigned, engaged and know their roles and responsibilities.

Partner with team members and remove any obstacles blocking their success.

Develop and maintain project artifacts and conduct regular reviews to ensure all participants are aware of progress and roadblocks.

Track and manage work within the software team based on priorities and due dates.

Manage and minimize team exposure to shifting priorities.

Lead stakeholder and / or client calls regarding project status.

Participate in weekly executive reporting to Alight management on project status.

Escalate critical unresolved issues, including recommendations for resolution.

Communicate clearly and frequently to the development team, stakeholders, executives and clients as appropriate.

Advocate and enforce best practices in your own work and with your team.

Exchange best practices and lessons learned with other team members. Identify areas in need of improvement and take actions to bridge the gap.

Hold the development team accountable for their deliverables and ensure quality deliverables.

Take a proactive stance in all communications with the customer.

Serve as the educator and creator of standards, best practices and metrics.

Implement accountability measures across teams.

Mentor, train, and guide the organization’s teams as they learn, and then adopt, product best practices and lessons learned.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks;

participating in professional societies.

You have

3+ years project management experience, preferably working on a SaaS or cloud-based product.

Project Management, People Management, Understanding the Customer, Product Development, Requirements Analysis, Pricing, Planning, Competitive Analysis, Sales Planning, Inventory Control, Financial Planning and Strategy skills.

Experience working in an Agile software development environment.

BA / BS or equivalent work experience.

Strategic and creative thinking skills with an ability to think outside the box and translate strategies into actions.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Proven ability to foster and manage working relationships within a matrix environment, a team player.

Ability to juggle multiple priorities.

Position Overview

As a Project Manager, Renewable Project Management, you will provide technical guidance to business development efforts from development through construction for renewable energy projects, particularly for onshore wind projects in Quebec.

You will be responsible for managing projects from advanced development through construction to achieve commercial operation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor construction activities for multiple project sites.
  • Prepare, negotiate and manage equipment, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts.
  • Manage construction permitting activities and ensure site construction activities comply. Also ensure construction adheres to established protocols and all contractual requirements.
  • Generate project schedules and evaluate alternate scenarios.
  • Lead coordination of development and construction efforts with project stakeholders, contractors, labor organization, interconnecting utilities and local authorities.
  • Support internal project financing and accounting efforts, including managing project budgets.
  • Assist development and engineering teams with site layout, micro-siting and civil design of projects.
  • Support business development teams in evaluating constructability of early-stage projects.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or other related technical discipline.
  • Fluency in English and French.
  • 5+ years of progressive project management experience.
