We are seeking a Production Supervisor to work at one of our facilities. The Production supervisor reports to the Production Manager and exercises direct control over a Production department and coordinates with other Production Supervisors.

As part of your role you will be responsible for :

Directing, coordinating and planning the activities of a specific production department under master production schedule and the hourly work force (including machine operators, i.

e., milling, mixing, canning equipment, etc.) involved in the manufacture of product.

  • Serving as lead person for a group of hourly employees utilizing established methods, normally to a maximum of 15 employees.
  • Communicating procedures to all subordinates, assuring they are understood and implemented when applicable.
  • Interpreting statistical reports, cycle time specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.

Qualifications

To perform your job as expected, you will be required to :

  • Have 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
  • Have a High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Have manufacturing, warehouse and supervisory / managerial experience
  • Demonstrate mechanical skills and knowledge of Production processes
  • Have excellent math skills, as well as oral, written, reading and comprehension skills in order to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Suite programs (MS Office) and other computer skills
  • Have prior experience leading, coaching, and developing a team and delivering performance metrics
  • Possess strong skills, knowledge, and capability in Manufacturing principles such as OEE, Lean, or TPM

In addition to these qualifications, we will consider as a plus if you have :

  • SAP Knowledge
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
  • Proficiency in Spanish, Polish, or sign language

The Production Manager leads all activities associated with the manufacturing / production department for this facility. The Production Manager is responsible for people and team development, motivating the team and ensuring quality performance.

Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety for an entire business unit across all shifts.

The Production Manager will be developing a team consisting of hourly associates and salaried team members.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure team compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain product quality and sanitation standards.

SUMMARY :

Utilizes tube forming equipment to produce ERW steel tubing. Oversees mill operation to ensure the highest quality tubing is achieved while adhering to safety and ISO standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Operate control panel on the tube packaging conveyor
  • Manually package tube bundles when automatic packaging is not available
  • Operate pneumatic banders to band tube bundles
  • Set-up and operate the de-dimpler on the tube mill to remove dimples from round tube ends as orders dictate
  • Monitor mill speeds and maintain shop floor orders
  • Check length tolerance using a tape measure
  • Inspect OD Scarf and other surfaces for defects to maintain the highest quality standards
  • Maintain tube straightness per ASTM 500 or 513 spec by adjusting the dual turks-head stand or sizing stands
  • Perform changeovers per order specifications, which include changing rolls in each roll stand of the mill
