Job Summary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Working for the video department at Texas Parks and Wildlife you will be required to travel all over the state, about 30 percent of your time will be out on the road.
Our state is vast and unique, and so are the stories we tell, while out in the field you will help to produce stories on hunting, fishing, state parks, etc.
Under the direction of PBS Show Series Producer, this position is responsible for entry-level informational and communications work including assisting media producers with a wide range of support tasks for field video production work and video post-production work.
Performs a limited range of media production work for the TV series and the agency’s social media platforms. Assists the Operations Manager with maintaining and testing field and post-production video equipment, and software.
Provides audio visual support for department meetings and hearings.Pulls, dubs and posts archive footage. Develops, implements and maintains the team’s volunteer program, and trains the volunteers.
Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Performs additional duties as assigned.
Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
Experience :
One year experience in media production or related field;
One year experience editing with professional video editing software.
NOTE : Experience may have occurred concurrently
ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS :
Education :
One additional year experience in media production may substitute for thirty semester hours of the required education, with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Photojournalism, Radio-TV-Film, Photography, Communications, Media or related field.
Experience :
Three years experience in media production or related field;
Three years experience editing with Adobe Premiere cloud and related Adobe software on Apple computers.
Licensure :
SUAS Airman FAA quadcopter certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Knowledge of professional and consumer audio / video production equipment, both field production and post-production equipment;
- Knowledge of professional audio / video production equipment and computers, terminology and the functions of audio / video production equipment and computers;
- Knowledge of general computer software, hardware and interfaces;
- Knowledge of computer based non-linear editing software and hardware, and data storage software and hardware;
- Knowledge of video production and post-production techniques and procedures;
- Knowledge of visual storytelling, story structure concepts and techniques;
- Knowledge of online video distribution systems such as YouTube and Roku;
- Skill in using computers (PC and Apple) and various computer software packages;

- Ability to perform manual labor including, lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.;
Ability to conduct work activities in accordance with TPWD safety program.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Required to work from 8 : 00 to 5 : 00 , Monday through Friday; alternative work schedule may be available;
- Required to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary;
- Required to climb ladders, crawl behind and under equipment racks, confined spaces, walk long distances on uneven terrain, climb small hills and sometimes large mountains, and walk in creeks and rivers while carrying heavy equipment;
- Required to perform manual labor including, lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.;
- Required to operate a State vehicle;
- Required to travel 30% with possible overnight stays;
- Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures;

MORE ABOUT THE POSITION :
As a Warehouse Clerk, you are the final person in our value chain that helps produce, kit, and / or package finished goods inventory so our Fulfillment Team can ship customer orders.
You may be assisting with production planning, material handling, and unloading trucks or containers as they come in. You will need to complete a final inspection of material quality to ensure that our customers are receiving new, undamaged products.
We want all of our customers to get exactly what they ordered, shipped as they requested, so we can continue to dazzle our customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDE :
Production You will build shelf stock and assemble customer orders from our material stock. This includes receiving and inspecting Work Orders (WOs) that have simple or complex Bill Of Materials (BOMs) and building assemblies accordingly.
Visual inspection of the BOM components is necessary in order to ensure that our builds are completed to customer expectations.
Downstocking or moving older materials down so that they can be consumed in a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) manner, and stocking newer materials up is necessary.
Clean up and organization of workstations is completed daily so that the next shift is capable of starting with a clean and ready workstation.
Order Fulfillment : This includes placing orders on pallets or shelves, racks, or relocating orders to a holding area or near the Fulfillment Department.
You will be responsible for handling material and moving materials to other areas within the warehouse. This may include replenishing stock where you move inventory from overstock areas down to the picking bins.
You will review customer orders and work orders to determine the items that need to be moved, gathered or distributed and / or shipped.
You may help pick, pack, and ship for dealer and customer orders.
Warehouse Safety : You will ensure the warehouse areas are accessible and safe for employees, customers, and traffic.You will sweep, dust, and mop (if necessary), and keep the warehouse workstations orderly at all times.
You will always wear the proper safety equipment.
Inventory Control : You may complete cycle counts (and associated adjustments) in our ERP system, as well as help Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory.
You will mark products with identifying information using appropriate Kanban method, as well as maintain Kanban indicators on all inventory.
You will notify Inventory Control when any product is low (Kanban levels).You will prepare for full physical inventory counts.
All inventory adjustments, assemblies, and transfers must be completed prior to conducting the full physical inventory counts.
This includes requesting inventory level verification from all offsite locations.)You will assist Inventory Control with consolidating current inventory when necessary.
You will help maintain a nothing on the floor policy.You will be responsible for quarantining inventory that has not met our specifications, which will include completing multiple transactions without our ERP system to maintain inventory accuracy.
You will work with other team members to understand and continuously improve key performance metrics for the department.You will participate in 5S planning, implementation, and review processes in order to keep your workstations clean and ready for the next incoming shipment.
You will work with our Procurement Team to ensure that we are providing our suppliers with necessary feedback on packaging quality to help determine and permanently resolve the root cause of any shipment issues.
MORE ABOUT YOU :
- You graduated high school or have a certificate equivalent to a high school degree.
- You are able to lift 60 lbs, and able to operate stand-up and / or standard forklift (having a current forklift certification is a plus).
- You are willing to work some Saturdays as needed and willing to work a flexible schedule that may include some overtime during our busy seasons.
- You will be moving often, but can stand for periods of time while building or kitting products. You will operate carts, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to move large quantities of product.
- You work well in a highly collaborative team environment and you are capable of communicating well with the ability to distill information into important details.
- You have a phenomenal attention to detail that helps you provide effective feedback to our suppliers on their packaging quality.
