The Generation Service Technician has safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities within data center operations. The person in this role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing and providing quality repairs of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures. The Generator Service Technician is both the technical expert and primary customer support contact to the customer, and is therefore responsible for continually communicating with the customer to provide an exceptional customer experience and drive data center up-time and availability.



Key job responsibilities
  • Know and follow all Company safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and fully participate in company accident prevention and safety improvement activities
  • Respond to customer requests
  • Travel to designated sites and perform professional quality field service repairs consistent with company standards
  • Advise the Generator Service Manager of parts needed for necessary repairs
  • Keep Generator Service Manager continually apprised, and utilize leadership to assist in answering customer questions and problems when necessary
  • Document detailed, complete and legible descriptions of all repair operations performed
  • Accurately record time, expenses, and mileage
  • Travel 80-90% of the time in an assigned region, and/or work overtime, weekends, or holidays, sometimes on short notice
  • Lift up to 50 lbs frequently; pushing and pulling a maximum force of 50 lbs
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for an Infrastructure Delivery Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team as part of our Work-Based Learning Program (WBLP). Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings, and will start all technicians the first or third Monday of every month. These trainees will participate in our 12-week work and training program in our Ohio facilities. This includes, but is not limited to: OH (Hilliard, Dublin, New Albany), given availability.
This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location.

The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability for our customers within our Data Centers. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. You will launch cutting edge server technologies and solve diverse networking impairments.

To be successful in this role you should possess technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. In addition, you must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. You will be able to leverage your experience exercising high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy.

Physical Requirements:
