We are looking for a creative Mechanical Engineer to assist in the development and design of the next generation battery systems.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design and fabricate mechanical components of innovative and quality through the entire product life cycle, from the initial research and development to the final fabrication and installation stages.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Plan, conceptualize and create mechanical designs for new products.
  • Create designs optimized for low-cost manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, extrusions, sheet metal and CNC, others
  • Perform calculations to support design
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline engineering teams and work with vendors
  • Evaluate product’s overall performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Alter and modify designs to meet requirements and to eliminate defects
  • Solicit observations from manufacturing engineers and assembly operators
  • Prepare product reports and documentation
  • Estimate budget and scope of project and ensure that project timeline is met and within budget

Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field
  • Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
  • Experience using SolidWorks CAD tools
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) a plus
  • Creative and analytical
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Technical writing skills
