Technip Energies is seeking a mechanical engineer to join our Piping Engineering discipline in the Boston, MA office to work on exciting Energy Transition, Circular Economy and Petrochemical projects.

As a Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and engineering of critical process piping systems from conceptual design through plant startup and providing technical services for operating facilities.

About The Role :

  • Design piping systems and pressure vessels for various chemical processes in accordance with industry codes and standards.
  • Optimize plant designs for new grassroots projects and major modifications to existing facilities ensuring compliance with all process design requirements, safety, operations and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain specifications for piping materials, piping components, valves, and specialty items
  • Perform pressure design calculations including minimum wall thickness, branch reinforcement, bend / miter fittings pressure capacity, external pressure, hydrostatic test pressure, etc.
  • Perform pipe stress analysis to ensure compliance with applicable codes
  • Prepare piping and equipment layouts, piping isometrics and pipe support drawings
  • Assist with the procurement of critical equipment / components and work closely with vendors through fabrication and installation.
  • Occasional travel to field sites and provide technical support to the field during construction, pre-commissioning and startup
  • Cross-train and support other mechanical engineering roles such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or higher degree.
  • 0-5 years of relevant engineering experience is preferred, candidates with more experience may be considered.
  • Must possess and demonstrate strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Skilled in 2D and 3D design in AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc. Experience with plant modeling software such as Smart 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or AVEVA E3D a strong plus.
  • EIT / PE license or willingness to obtain.
  • Familiar with applicable codes and standards, such as ASME BPVC, B31.1, B31.3, ASTM, API, MSS, and NACE.
  • Experience with commercially available pipe stress software and FEA is a plus.

Responsibilities

Draper is seeking a mechanical engineer for a role focused on electronics packaging. Specific responsibilities include :

  • Perform mechanical design and development associated with the physical arrangement of electronic circuits including assembly design, analysis, build, test, and documentation support
