WSP is currently recruiting for a Mid-Level Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Gainesville or Orlando, FL.
The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical and / or mechanical design, energy conservation and resiliency, understanding of HVAC and lighting systems, building simulation modelling, good communication skills and ability to work with a group of experienced professionals.

Your Impact
- Work on technical assignments (both field and office) and support mechanical and / or electrical design and energy efficiency related projects.
- Field assignments are local, national and international depending on technical capabilities and desire to travel. Overnight travel is estimated to be about 20%
- The Engineer in this position will be assigned to a team. Typical team assignments will include HVAC, renewable, and lighting energy conservation design projects, interfacing with clients and contractors, project cost estimation, energy auditing, identification and implementation of energy conservation measures, rebate identification and procurement, boiler and chiller plant upgrades, DDC systems, and building simulation energy modeling.
- Strong commitment to company’s Beyond Zero safety program; follow company safety standards, site safety standards and maintain safe workplace practices.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications

- Valid driver's license
- Flexibility to work and travel outside normal business hours as required
- Background in electrical and / or mechanical system design, energy auditing, building modeling, and energy conservation measure cost estimating.

- Must be computer proficient with working knowledge of MS Excel and Word (AutoCAD and / or Revit proficiency preferred but not required)
- Must pass background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy

Job Description
Leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for their Orlando team!
Responsibilities :
- Perform all aspects of design for HVAC for Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education or Laboratory projects
- Provide advanced heating / cooling load calculations with Trace / HAP
- Identify sequences of operations for AHU's, CHW and HW systems
- Develop sections / elevations of complex duct work and piping areas, equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases and air and water flows
- Edit specifications
- Assist with completing RFI’s for a project and review submittals
- Deliver appropriate documentation using proper scope for SD, DD and CD level documents
- Meet with contractors during bid phase to review design details
Requirements :
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of mechanical design experience
- PE License
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

Position requires an experienced engineer capable of leading technical feasibility studies, conceptual design trades, and cost benefit analyses related to packaging new subsystems and structures into a missile to reduce cost, improve performance, and / or enable component commonality with other missiles.
Detailed design, drawing creation, and prototype development also required. In addition to RAD-IRAD initiatives, the selected candidate will work some TDP updates for parent program New Platform I&T test vehicles.

Mechanical Engineer
The Engineer will be designing simulation trainers. The mechanical engineer in this position will also be responsible for modeling hardware using CAD software.
This includes creating 3D models of components and assemblies, as well as designing new products and systems from scratch.
