The Creative Strategy team is part of the Integrated Marketing Communications department at Universal Orlando Resort. This team leads creative strategy for national campaigns as well as local and regional programs.
The Representative, Creative Strategy assists the Manager and the team at large in bringing strategic plans to life by piloting impactful creative development.
This position requires working knowledge of online and offline media, the ability to inspire great creative work, and organizational, collaboration, and account management skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Activation of Creative Strategy
- Implementation of key tactics for campaigns.
- Collaborates with the communications planning team to ensure that all channel needs are accounted for.
- Ensures all versions and variations of the main creative concept are developed for core paid media as well as toolkits for paid, owned, and earned.
- Partners with project management team to ensure content is developed on time and on budget.
- Acts as a resource for the creative team regarding project questions (insights, specs, timelines, etc.).
Provides Critical Support for Assigned Projects & Lines of Business
- Actively manages content development / execution to ensure business needs are met.
- Submits project requests in Workfront while ensuring all creative strategy input is provided.
- Supports Manager by providing strategic, timing, and budgetary considerations for all projects.
- Works closely with the project management team to define scope of work and budget for campaigns and tactics.
- Proactively contributes to continuous process improvement by effectively identifying solutions for challenges.
Assistance in Planning of Creative Strategy
- Defines the problem : Assists in reframing business problems as human problems under the direction of the manager and team.
- Sets the path : Understands the importance of briefing and how to inspire great work on all projects regardless of the size and scale.
- Writes project briefs and assists in developing creative briefs that anchor to central strategy of the overall campaign.
- Contributes to briefs and briefings as directed.
Acts as a catalyst : Expresses enthusiasm and passion for ideas.
- Briefs internal teams on tactical projects they lead.
- Makes a valuable contribution to meetings and workshops as directed by the manager and the team.
- Documents and shares great work (problem, insight, idea, execution).
- Pitches the idea : Assists in the development of presentations as directed by the manager and team.
- Co-leads creative review meetings where needed.
- Assists in the creation of presentation decks as needed
EDUCATION : Bachelors degree in Marketing, Integrated Communications or Advertising
EXPERIENCE :
- years of relevant experience in marketing, advertising or communications.
- Previous advertising agency, travel / tourism or entertainment experience is a plus.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Workfront workflow system is a plus, but not required.
- Must have strong organizational and project management skills.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.
- Must be able to write routine reports, business correspondence and timelines.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE : Internal title for this role is Project Coordinator. This role works under the general supervision of the Sr.
Vice President of Donor & Volunteer Experiences and input from function area leads. Responsible for supporting the daily operations within the Marketing & Communications team.
Provide secondary support to Donor & Volunteer Experiences (Volunteer Resource Center & Signature Events). This role functions as a coordinator of special projects, manages work flow, provides administrative support and performs a variety of duties to further the mission of the organization while exercising good initiative, independent and critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES : Project Management · Support department production and track status of projects, following up on approvals / feedback, and processing new work orders · Support the team with changes to weekly work flow, project deadlines, collection of details for projects and communication to requestors · Maintain weekly communications and email schedule including updating shared calendars and requesting Database Mining Operations (DMOs) Database Management · Ensure proactive monitoring and maintenance of the database system, while maintaining data quality control with data entry.
- Maintain and update account information in the database as necessary. · Screen, track and monitor donor status in Andar.
- Support donor research process in Andar and external systems. - Provide support and coordination for all engagement opportunities for partners, including but not limited to corporate partner volunteer events, speaking engagement requests, etc.
- Coordinate orientation of external volunteers and interns. · Coordinate on-boarding procedure for new function area employees.
- Support communications initiatives by drafting copy, tracking metrics, setting up landing pages, providing RSVP lists, etc.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations, Excel spread sheets, mail merge correspondence, log notes into Andar and update records and lists.
- Create, update, copy, and assemble required reports, materials, or research packets. · Prepare correspondence, reports, and statistical information from rough drafts, editing grammar, punctuation, and / or spelling as needed.
Responsible for various merge correspondence to volunteers. · Follow internal standard operating procedures to complete interdepartmental tasks, including submitting DMOs, work orders, etc.
- Assist in maintaining function area SharePoint pages. · Assist, as necessary, in supplemental research for speeches, articles or special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to serving as lead or support staff on team committees, special projects and special events.
