Purpose
The Logistics manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager with day-to-day functions of the airport, working with the merchandise and resolving issues using a retail management system;
supervising the activities of subordinates, assigning responsibility for specified work; and performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management .
Your Team is counting on you as a Logistics Manager to :
- Provide full flexible and open availability to work any shift throughout the day (within a 24 hour period), any day of the week, including weekends & holidays
- Work a full-time schedule at the Chicago Midway International Airport
Logistics Manager Key Accountabilities :
- Provides excellent service to internal and external customers in receiving, processing and distributing merchandise and supplies to stores
- Supervises day-to-day activities of subordinates
- Assists management in covering and running shifts
- Assists with scheduling to ensure that all shifts are covered
- Complies with delivery schedules; accurately, timely, and efficiently processes deliveries
- Utilizes computer to manage accurate inventory for warehouse operations
- Assists in the transportation of orders and returns between the warehouse and stores (where applicable)
- Identifies damaged and expired products
- Implements product rotation based on product code dates in warehouse and concepts
- Follows all security and safety procedures established by the Company and Branch
- Assists in all maintenance responsibilities and activities established by the warehouse
- Maintains fixtures and equipment storage
- Assists with bin location upkeep and the physical inventory process
- Assists with ticketing according to branch standards for accuracy and timeliness.
- Reviews in-coming orders and advise Merchandise and / or Warehouse Manager of errors and questions and assist in resolutions when appropriate.
- Ensures that information from related ordering and receiving forms are processed according to company standards and are correctly entered into the Retail Management System.
- Updates information in the RMS as needed and produce appropriate reports.
- Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of product
- Assumes responsibility for effective communication, coordination, and working relationships between associates and management
- Drives Company Vehicles
Specific Required Qualifications :
- SAP experience is a must!!
- Supply Chain / Logistics experience
- 2-5 years of managerial experience in a retail / warehouse environment
- Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with subordinates.
- Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
- Requires the ability to drive a truck safely.
- High school diploma.
- The ability to lift and / or move up to 50 lbs.
- Requires a valid driver’s license and meet company requirements for Safe Driving record
- Minimum of 6 months supervisory / lead experience

Description
The Logistics Manager responsible for all functions pertaining to direct logistics ensuring customer satisfaction, customer retention, network optimization and full implementation of related tools and processes.
They plan, implement and control the efficient flow and storage of goods, services, and related information between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet customer's requirements.
Accountabilities
This role will work closely with the Dyson Digital & Direct Team, Dyson Outbound Logistics, Vendor Partners, and Shipping Services Suppliers to support smooth and efficient operations.
This includes supervising Dyson’s Shipping Services Suppliers and working with both internal and external customers on problem resolution as it pertains to e-commerce logistics fulfilment and transportation.
The Logistics Manager is responsible for continually improving service while looking for ways to reduce costs through process improvement, network optimization and standardization across Dyson’s US logistics.
In addition, this role will help build the roadmap for innovation in delivery experience and establish key partnerships to ensure Dyson remains an industry leader.
Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for driving the strategy and managing the e-commerce supply chain plan and the flow of work through the teams involved in the Dyson online channel
- Develop customer and business strategies that align with both supply chain and sales objectives which result in customer satisfaction, increased sales revenue and market share growth
- Implement e-business initiatives within region and ensure a high level of end-user engagement. Actively collaborate and coordinate with global e-business team to ensure alignment
- Develop Industry benchmark on Direct Delivery (Speed, Convenience, Customization and Experience)
- Work with Dyson IT / Systems Teams to achieve delivery experience
- Analyze, design and implement Dyson’s direct business logistics network
- Extend the delivery experience to other direct channels offline and online including Marketplace, call center / chat, DSC’s and our stores
- Provide logistics operational support for special projects executed with Dyson’s 3rd party logistics providers
- Work cross-functionally with Dyson internal teams to determine the scope, timing and requirements of a project
- Develop and maintain periodic reports and KPIs
- Play a critical role in P&L reviews and strategic planning / forecasting
- Properly control and manage multiple project status and communicate with executive team members as appropriate to perform project status update and to flag project concerns and risks
- Huge emphasis on increasing picking efficiency to increase operating margin for all e-commerce orders
- Participate in global teams / networks as it relates to direct logistics and provide input
Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Master’s Degree preferred
- At least five (5) years' experience in logistics or related field. 7 years preferred
- Must have proven experience setting up an Omni-channel network
- Must have proven experience in Reverse Logistics and Network Design
- Strong computer skills, including MS excel and SAP

Logistics Engineer
Sandvik Mining & Rock is looking for a Logistics Engineer in our Continuous Improvement Department for our Chicago Warehouse operations.
As the Logistics Engineer in our Continuous Improvement Department, you will be involved with implementation of new technologies and procedures within the region.
Act as a regional WMS / TMS custodian to ensure systems configuration is continuously improved and requests for service and system support are addressed appropriately.
Main responsibilities Include :
- Improve existing and develop new logistic and supply chain solutions within SMRT P&S Logistics.
- Continuously fine tune WMS / TMS systems configuration and ensure that requests for service and system support are addressed appropriately and in a timely and professional manner.
- Development and management of WHM engineered standards within region.
- Proactively apply supply chain expertise and analysis on operations in regional network.
- Identify improvements, develop proposals and project manage implementation of new technologies and procedures with the intention of reducing costs.
Increasing customer service levels and improving the safety culture.
- Set the standards for continuous improvement activities in region.
