FOX Sports is looking for a Creative Production Assistant to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. Under general supervision, the Assistant is responsible for providing support for the creation of promotional campaigns for FOX Sports.

This includes acquiring, logging, and researching any materials needed to produce a promo. The Assistant works closely with the Creative Directors, Producers, and Project Managers in the edit bays, on-shoot locations, and in the office to ease and support the workflow for a given project.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize and track all folders, notes, files, tapes, and materials needed for the pre-production, production, and post-production phases for a given project
  • Provide overall production support and assistance to creative directors, producers, and project managers for the completion of a promo
  • Label, screen, log, and dub melts, film transfers, and other footage as assigned
  • Research images, clips, music, and footage needed for projects
  • Download, import, and export files for projects
  • Create clip reels from materials screened to be brought in to edit bays
  • Research information on particular projects, sports, players, and teams
  • Assist in writing / producing on-air promotional spots as needed
  • Research props, wardrobe, and other necessary items for shoots
  • Courier runs when necessary

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Intern experience in a similar field or a vast knowledge of what it takes to produce a high-quality promotion or show
  • Experience in a job or internship in a similar atmosphere to understand what is expected and what the job entails
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and follow-up skills
  • Basic level of mathematical / reasoning skills

SUMMARY OF DUTIES :

Responsible for metal fabrication and welding of rolling stock equipment and components in accordance with AWS , FRA and Amtrak standards and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Conducts shielded metal arc or gas metal arc welding processes with low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum
  • Performs maintenance in accordance with AWS and 49CFR regulations and Amtrak standards
  • Fabricates fitting of weldments or pieces to be welded with metal machinery such as shear, brake, roll, ironworker, drill press, radiac saw, band saw, used for cutting, bending, drilling, shaping, rolling and punching
  • Performs various welding operations and thermal cutting to include : SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, oxy / acetylene cutting, plasma arc cutting and carbon arc gouging
  • Welds with 4’ X 8’ plate ranging from one-eighth to unlimited thickness
  • Welds with stock to include I-beam, channel, square tubing, angle iron, flat bar, round stock of various sizes. Uses electric and pneumatic grinders, drills and small tools
  • Performs truck and bolster repair, side frames, gear pans, cut levers, coupler repair, draft gear wear plates
  • Uses overhead cranes for lifting of metal plates and structural steel
  • Reads blueprints and drawings and works from design and layout of templates and fixtures
  • Maintains proper care and use of materials, test equipment, machines and hand tools normally associated with assigned job

MININMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in heavy welding and metal fabrication
  • Must Successfully complete training and attain / retain certification applicable to assigned job
  • Knowledge of crane operations, power tool usage, machine operations (shear brake, ironworker and radial saws), hydraulic equipment operation, and electric, air and battery-operated drills
  • Knowledge and skills in the use of electrical tools, equipment and the measurements necessary to meet established standards
  • Skill in thermal cutting oxy / acetylene, plasma, carbon arg, tig, stick, mig welding, chain & sling rigging equipment
  • Ability in metal identification, test equipment operation, blue print analysis, and equipment assembly
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently

This is a great opportunityto learn more about welding and get some hands on experience with our Kohler Power Group organization based at the KohlerSaukville location.

This welding bootcamp gives you classroom learning atMoraine Park Tech College location. The bootcamp is a great introductionto welding and any experience level is welcome to apply.

Kohler Power Group Welding Bootcamp will review the following competencies :

Learn how to set up and use a variety of welding equipment e.g. Oxy-Acetylene gas, GTAW and Plazma.

Learn how to test product reliability and integrity.

Learn how to weld to proper dimensions and to meet general requirements

Able to understand blueprints, drawings, job layouts and sketches

Able to fit, position and weld a variety of items e.g. frames, tanks, pipes, production

service equipment and machinery etc. as well as chip and grind welds as required.

Perform a variety of duties requiring a cutting torch

Carrying out all required safety functions

Learn to measure, understand, act on and report quality and operation information

Candidate must apply and be accepted at Moraine Park Tech College Bootcamp .

Candidate must be able to attend classes 4 days a week at a MPTC location and 1 day of hands on at Saukville location.

General Requirements :

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment required.

An understanding of welding fundamentals preferred.

Basic welding experience and / or training preferred.

Working towards apprenticeship or certification preferred.

Ability to drive forklift and operate overhead cranes preferred.

Must be able to lift at least 35-50lbs

Must be at least 18 years old
