Job Description

  • Develop and maintain 120+ grocery retail relationships, driving within an assigned 100+ mile range territory, selling and up-selling the allocated Wonderful products
  • Determine the best location for displays within each store for sales of all Wonderful brand products
  • Rotate and stock all company authorized products on each grocery store call
  • Maintain product placement schematic integrity while managing re-merchandising projects including grand openings and remodels as requested by the retailer
  • Accurately record and report product and chain-specific information, documenting daily activities and accomplishments
  • Execute, maintain, and monitor all company-driven marketing initiatives and programs including maintenance of POS and coupon / tie-in programs
  • Provide chain-specific information and communication daily

Qualifications

  • Proven retail sales success promoting grocery store products with the ability to form partnerships with store and produce managers, preferably within food and beverage
  • Capability to provide compelling rationales to store management staff to display and purchase against the competition
  • Prior experience and understanding of managing a large store territory and daily drive time
  • Possess excellent selling, negotiation, and partnership-building skills
  • Remain detail-oriented, goal-minded, problem-solving while working independently
  • Enjoy working with people and being able to apply effective interpersonal and time management skills to get your work done
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel

Work Environment and Physical Demands :

  • Clean driving record - background check will be conducted
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Capability to work early mornings with a 7am start time
  • Live within territory boundaries as established; may require minimal overnight travel depending on territory

  • Sell programs directly to key buyers by capitalizing on solid business relationships and capturing opportunities with a creative approach to satisfy brand goals and maximize volume
  • Create tailored persuasive sales presentations
  • Develop key multi-level relationships with the customer by exemplifying strong emotional intelligence
  • Manage a trade fund budget for each brand group
  • Understand business metrics by examining shipments and syndicated data and leveraging information to influence business decisions.

  • Surface volume-building opportunities to Vice President and Marketing teams

  • Network within the industry and at key customer events / initiatives. The successful candidate is expected to build and leverage a strong network across accounts and within the produce industry

Qualifications

  • Required CPG (or similar industry) experience demonstrating progressive responsibility and achievements
  • Experience selling multiple product lines (ideally from various companies or brands) to multiple headquarter accounts.
  • Direct selling experience versus simply managing a brokered or third-party sales team.
  • Branded produce experience or similar CPG experience (branded, premium, and perishable products).
  • Knowledge of technology and software tools to (1) prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, (2) prepare and track sales forecasts, and (3) track key account activities
  • throughout the year.
  • Strong appreciation for the Wonderful Company’s values and culture, especially related to health and wellness.
  • You are comfortable traveling up to 40% for customer meetings, trade shows, collaboration, and conferences

Job Description

  • Cover open routes when regular driver is away for vacation, personal or sick time off
  • Act as primary sales contact between Wonderful Sales and trade partners on your route
  • Drive truck to set of accounts designated for that day (May at times include Long Island, Westchester County, and upstate New Jersey)
  • Review and adjust product mix and placement to maximize sales
  • Manage return rates to, or below, budgeted levels
  • Use and maximize placement of Point of Sales (POS) to increase sales
  • Regularly monitor coolers for appearance and function to ensure quality of products
  • Keep account shelves neat, clean and in order. Pull any out-of-code or damaged products and credit the account for any items removed from the shelf
  • Build orders from back of truck, load onto handcart or dolly and deliver to account
  • Check in orders, take product to designated area and load onto shelves
  • Complete invoicing and collect payment from Cash on Delivery COD accounts

Qualifications

  • DSD Route and / or supermarket experience
  • Previous experience in sales, retail merchandising and customer service
  • Valid Driver's License and Clean driving record - background check will be conducted
  • Ability to drive a 16-foot box truck (no CDL required)
  • Ability to lift 15-40 pounds
  • Must pass criminal background investigation
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively, both internally and externally
  • Good math and communication skills with the ability to read, write and speak English
  • An enthusiastic, positive, self-motivated, resourceful team player is a must.
