Job Description

SUMMARY :

This position is responsible to ensure that the plant meets mandatory sanitation requirements for machinery, equipment and facilities.

This person carries out tasks in accordance with Whitsons policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws while following the Management Operating Structure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

  • Ensures plant is audit ready at all times by cleaning, scrubbing, and sanitizing the outside of all equipment, tanks, stairs, walls, floors, baseboards, handrails, sinks, drains, and trash cans throughout the plant.
  • Assists production staff with cleaning up major projects as needed.
  • Responsible for the daily exterior cleaning of machinery.
  • Ensures different rooms are cleaned throughout the plant by mopping, sweeping, wiping, etc..
  • Takes direction from Sanitation Supervisor to resolve sanitation-related issues.
  • Works with Production and other co-workers to meet sanitation schedules while maximizing productivity.
  • Analyzes and resolves sanitation work problems, or assists workers in solving sanitation work problems.
  • Responsible for keeping outside grounds cleaned all year round.
  • Clean common and office areas on occasion.

Position sometimes requires extended hours including evenings and / or weekends, travel to multiple work sites and occasional out-of-state travel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • The work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, specifically the packing and warehousing areas
  • Standing most of the work day is required.
  • Work requires movement in and out of store rooms, near heavy machinery and freezers
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES :

Education :

High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Must complete all Whitsons and government required training as necessary
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.

Job Description

  • Check dish machine for fresh water, detergent, and proper temperature.
  • Scour and wash all dishes / inspect for stains.
  • Put away all dishes, utensils, silverware.
  • Empty and clean dish machine.
  • Wash down walls, clean all stainless steel.
  • Clean dish dollies, stack all racks on dollies.
  • Properly fill three compartment sink / wash-rinse-sanitize.
  • Wash pits, assist in removing dishes from machine / stacking.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen, delivery area, and storage area.
  • Remove all trash to dumpster, separate cardboard in bin.
  • Clean garbage pails, replace bags, locate to proper place.
  • Assist wait staff with loading dishes onto trucks.
  • Move trucks to dish machine area and unload.
  • Wash out trucks after use.
  • Re-stock dishes / utensils.

Work Schedule - 9 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM
