JOB DESCRIPTION : Cleaner

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP : Reports to and works under the general direction and supervision of the Cleaning Supervisor.

PURPOSE

Provides for the accomplishment of a variety of cleaning tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to use common cleaning tools and equipment, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and other light, powered cleaning equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety. Complies with all fire, safety, health, sanitation and other rules and regulations. Maintains good work practices in areas supervised.

Custodial. Specific instructions are provided on what to clean and the methods to use.

Performs the following tasks :

  • Cleaning of Commissary offices, storerooms, corridors, stairways, restrooms and other areas.
  • Cleaning of production equipment.
  • Sweeping, dry mopping and scrubbing of floors, using brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners and lightweight floor scrubbers.
  • Dusting, waxing and polishing of furniture.
  • Emptying wastebaskets.
  • Cleaning doorknobs and other metal fixtures.
  • Washing walls, windows and blinds that can be reached without climbing ladders.
  • Cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing lavatories, urinals and toilet bowls. Cleaning mirrors sinks and water fountains.

Replenishing deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels and soap.

  • Dusting ledges and woodwork.
  • Cleaning of outside grounds. Sweeping and picking up trash, emptying ashtrays and in inclement weather, shoveling snow from stairs and walkway and applying deicer in needed areas.
  • Places soiled uniforms at pickup point.
  • Checks condition of restrooms and reports to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains and other conditions requiring maintenance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Work involves light physical effort, such as that involved in using vacuum cleaners and dry mops; running lightweight powered scrubbers;

continually standing, bending, stooping and reaching; frequently lifting and emptying wastebaskets; frequently pushing carts and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to about 50 pounds.

Majority of the work is performed indoors, but outdoor work is required periodically with the possibility of exposure to inclement weather, including below freezing temperatures during the winter.

Wet surfaces pose the risk of slips and falls.

JOB DESCRIPTION : Driver, Donut and Warehouse

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP : Reports to and functions under the general direction and supervision of the Driver Supervisor.

PURPOSE

Provides for product and supply delivery to retail outlets, and courier service between retail outlets and the main office.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to drive trucks with rated weight capacities of over one ton and up to but not including four tons in hauling cargo over public roads.
  • Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and ability to use vehicle dispatch procedures and delivery schedules.
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good judgment and reasoning ability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivers cargo ensuring it is properly loaded / unloaded and that loads are properly distributed, secured and within maximum rated weight capacity.
  • Follow all safety and traffic rules and drive carefully to prevent accidents and avoid damage and injury, that they exercise caution when entering / leaving stores to prevent damage to buildings and store property, and that they place perishable goods delivered to stores in refrigerators / freezers and that stores are secured upon departure.
  • Courier payrolls and documents ensuring they are kept confidential and delivered to the correct destination within 24 hours.
  • Immediately forwards all accident / incident reports to the Supervisor of Drivers.
  • Maintains vehicle logs and dispatch records.
  • Reports any and all needed vehicle maintenance and repair to the Supervisor of Drivers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Handles objects weighing up to 50 pounds and may be exposed to inclement weather during loading and unloading operations and while driving.

Drives in all types of traffic and is exposed to risk of motor vehicle accident. Otherwise, work is performed in an office type environment with little physical demands and minimal exposure to risk and discomfort.
