Wastequip Steel Division has an immediate opportunity for a Welder to support our Rosemount, MN manufacturing operation.
The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
Starting Pay - $25.01 / HR
Responsibilities
- Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks
- Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces
- Welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines
- Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
Holds & guides torch at proper angle to cut metal
- Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
- Scarfs or grooves welds and parts
- Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter
- Other duties as assigned
- Employee must regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, lift, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, close vision, peripheral vision, & depth perception
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One to six months of related experience and / or training preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions & decimals
- Ability to understands and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to read blue prints and measuring tape
- Experienced in a fast paced production environment preferred
- Able to pass all EHS required tests and clearances

Summary of essential job functions
Support parts sales by performing various shipping and receiving duties.
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
- Parts pick-up and delivery to / from local customers and vendors using company vehicle.
- Utilize computer for payroll, shipping, receiving and inventory control.
- Responsible for sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
- Maintain adequate levels of shipping materials. Forward all purchase request to the supervisor.
- Maintain work area, warehouse and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and is accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic
- Assisting in counting of physical inventory
- Follow prescribed safety regulations
- Perform various light janitorial duties
- Consistent, punctual time and attendance.

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of Age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift Heavy items 75+ pounds
- Computer Experience
- Fork Lift Experience
- Must have valid Georgia driver’s license
- Must have a clean driving record (must pass background check)
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
Job Knowledge, Skills
Meet physical demands of the position : Drive company vehicle, lift heavy (75+ lbs objects). Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
- Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math. Use company computer software.
- Ability to perform but not limited to the following tasks, be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips. If needed enter into the computer the correct information, to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database.
- Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers
- Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements
- Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment and be able to be trained as an licensed forklift truck operator
