Position Objective :

The individual in this role works collaboratively with the Warehouse team to drive efficiency of the warehouse operation.

This role ensures that parts are stored, replenished, and picked in the most appropriate warehouse area. The team member develops process flows and tools to boost the productivity of the warehouse functions;

implements reporting and analysis of warehouse slotting and capacity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Owner of the storage, replenishment, picking and lineside inventory strategy in the facility
  • Applies continuous improvement methodologies to replenishment and picking strategies and recommends suitable changes to manager.
  • Regularly performs health-checks to ensure product is stored, replenished, and picked in alignment with our overall material flow strategy.
  • Utilizes and further develops existing data warehouse tools for standardized data analysis
  • Apply findings from data analysis to improve warehouse and manufacturing productivities
  • Presents findings in easy-to-consume formatting, presents fact-based recommendations to leadership, builds what-if models, and partners with manager to monitor progress against desired business outcomes
  • Maintains the WMS replenishment configuration in accordance to defined stock keeping strategy and to achieve identified improvements
  • Assesses additional storage needs as required based on capacity analysis
  • Supports planning and execution of day-to-day slotting process and other operational challenges
  • Aids in the planning and documentation of both functional and technical business requirements needed to create improved and sustainable slotting processes
  • Supports Inventory control in conducting daily cycle counts, delegated inventory tasks, and assists in process improvements.
  • Other duties as required and assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and Experience :

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • 3 years’ experience with warehouse / distribution processes, layouts, systems, and designs and ability to obtain forklift certification or license .
  • Preferred experience in gathering profiling data such as : velocities, seasonal curves, inbound frequencies, and picking frequencies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Average knowledge of and skill using Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
  • Ability to write policies and procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to listen and be aware of production floor activity to support a safe and hazard free working environment.
  • Knowledge of lean and 6S principles.

Duties :

Mentors new and existing staff and provides regular feedback verbally or in written from; delegates, monitors, and reviews the progress of assigned work to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Provide work direction for approximately 5-20 operations personnel for assigned portion of value stream.

Facilitate daily Tier 1 meetings and attend daily Tier 2 meetings to drive assigned area to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets

Train new employees on Forklifts

May provide documented input to supervisor for performance reviews, corrective action, performance improvement and candidate selection.

Performs scheduled issues and picks of requested components / materials, additional parts, reservations, resupply materials, and consolidates and delivers work order materials.

Pulls production work order materials from shelves, boxes and bins and verifies qualities on hand.

Ensures all orders are accurate prior to packaging for shipment.

Utilizes computer-based program to conduct audit of shipments being packed.

Must be able to process warehouse transfers / receipts, using SAP software, within productivity standards

Performs data entry into ERP system of finished shipment.

Pulls and prepares product for production, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is picked

Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code

Supports Inventory control in conducting daily cycle counts, delegated inventory tasks, and assists in process improvements.

Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts, ensuring proper stock rotation

Other duties as required and assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required

At least three years’ experience in a warehouse, assembly, distribution operation.

Forklift certification or license.

Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous incremental improvement.

The Production Technician is responsible for setting up and operating basic industrial machinery. This position involves weighing, blending, mixing, packaging and transporting both liquid and dry chemicals in the production of our client's products.

The individual must be able to follow direction and effectively function as a member of a team. The Production Technician must ensure production of the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost, ensuring products are produced to specification and meeting the delivery requirements of our customers

REQUIRED :

Criminal Background and Drug Screen

2 - 4 years Manufacturing experience

2 - 4 years Machine Operator experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalency

Must be able to read / comprehend written and oral instructions in English

Must have manual dexterity sufficiency to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, spatulas, hand trucks, utility knives, mixing and packaging machinery and computer equipment.

Follow safety protocols discussed in orientation

PREFERRED :

Two years forklift experience

Batch mixing, blending or other chemical processing equipment preferably in building materials or painting industries

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Employees must be able to understand and comply with all safety, health and environmental procedures.
  • Ensure a clean and orderly work environment following established housekeeping guidelines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • Manufacturing and warehousing environment requiring heavy and sustained lifting and standing.
  • Environment is subject to seasonality and changes in the weather.
  • Requires the use of safety equipment as indicated by the work area such as, but not limited to, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, respirators, face shields, gloves and aprons.
  • Work is almost exclusively inside and ambient conditions can be hot or cold depending on the season.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles and fumes.
