What You’ll Do :

Identify Environmental Requirements. Analyze a wide array of environmental requirements including permits, plans and regulatory requirements and determine applicability to our operations.

Develop and maintain a compliance framework that communicates plant responsibilities for each compliance program.

Conduct Inspections and Audits. Conduct frequent inspections and audits at each plant location to assess regulatory and environmental management compliance, control significant environmental risks, and ensure the adequacy of environmental management systems.

Utilize findings to identify opportunities for improvement.

Develop and Deliver Training. Develop material to engage and educate operations on environmental awareness topics and required tasks.

Provide training on an individual and group basis.

Interact with Various Groups. Provide assistance to local plant and sales personnel on environmental issues and compliance on a day-to-day and project basis.

Interact with governmental agencies regarding new legislation, regulations and compliance issues. Participate in trade association activities.

Manage the use of consultants to improve return and minimize costs.

Complete Compliance Support Activities. Prepare and submit permit applications, modifications and renewals. Prepare and maintain plans (SPCC, SWPPP, fugitive dust, etc).

Track and complete reporting requirements (discharges, storm water, emissions, TRI, etc.) and manage recordkeeping requirements.

Qualifications

Skills You’ll Need :

Education. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, or a similar technical area is preferred. An Environmental Engineering degree and / or an advanced degree in some aspect of environmental studies is desirable.

Experience. Previous experience in the environmental area is preferred. Must have a high level of hands-on experience in reviewing regulatory requirements and assessing their applicability and impact to the field.

Regulatory Knowledge. Must have expertise in environmental regulatory compliance and numeric groundwater and surface water modeling.

Must have strong knowledge of the federal and state environmental regulatory process and experience with environmental regulatory areas (RCRA, CWA, CAA, TSCA, etc.)

Interpersonal Skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and interact well with all levels of personnel.

Technology Skills. Must have the ability to use computerized equipment and technology. Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Oracle Business Environment, and other software packages relevant to the position.

Salary Range : the base salary range for this role is between $80,000 to $100,000 annual salary. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package.

What You’ll Do :

Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with OSHA and Vulcan standards.

Repair and Maintain Electronic Equipment. Service, repair, calibrate, regulate, fine-tune, and test machines, devices, electrical systems, conductors, and associated equipment for 10 asphalt plants.

Troubleshoot and Diagnose Equipment. Detect and diagnose all electrical wiring, appliance, fixture, and machinery problems, failing components, and malfunctions while making corrections and striving to improve equipment reliability.

Inspect Equipment, Structures, and Material. Complete scheduled checks of all electrical equipment and systems in order to detect any malfunctions and unsafe conditions throughout the plant.

Interpret Blueprints, Schematics, and other Documentation. Work with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine safe and effective installation procedures.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills You’ll Need :

Experience. Previous experience in construction or industrial electrical work with asphalt plants and aggregates is preferred.

Knowledge of Best Practices. Must demonstrate a strong knowledge of electrical codes and electrical theory. Motor control is preferred (NEC, NESC, & OSHA).

Flexibility. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises .

Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.

Mechanical Skills. Must have some knowledge of electrical tools, their uses, and maintenance.

What You’ll Do :

Know Business Demands. Become thoroughly familiar with the day’s business demands by reviewing schedule and individual customer orders and the beginning of and continuously during shifts.

Direct Loading and Delivery. Direct Plant Operators, Loader Operators, Drivers, or Batch Plant Operators regarding which material to load on trucks.

Direct Drivers regarding which customer job site to receive delivery.

Follow Loading Procedures. Weigh Company and non-company trucks on truck scale before and after being loaded with aggregate products.

Write or print delivery tickets for all loads of material leaving the yard.

Report Issues. Immediately report any delivery problems to service or sales representatives for quick resolution or mitigation.

Receive Customer Orders. Receive customer orders, mostly by telephone, but also from drivers on Company radio, service or sales representatives over radio or in person, and occasionally by customers in person.

Assist customers in identifying proper products needed for specific end uses. Advise customers on Company order confirmation and delivery policies.

Record customer orders on order form and in schedule book as received.

Determine Schedules. Tactfully balance cost effective delivery times and rates for Company with customer demands. Make schedule for drivers for next business day in correspondence with customer order requirements.

Complete Daily Reports. Complete reports daily on product sales, product allowances and adjustments, delivery problems, and other matters.

Receive and Enter Orders. Receive customer orders and assist customers in identifying proper products needed for specific end uses.

Qualifications

Skills You’ll Need :

Education. Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Some college is preferred.

Experience. Experience that has included dispatching, customer relations, and construction / transportation is preferred.

Must have administrative or sales experience.

Operational Knowledge. Must have knowledge of paving, concrete, and construction materials. Must have knowledge of trucks and transportation requirements and regulations.

Must have a solid understanding of the aggregate and asphalt business functions, as well as key drivers for sales, logistics, and customer satisfaction.

Must have knowledge of the construction industry to include materials and project management.

Regulatory Knowledge. Must have knowledge of environmental and safety regulations in trucking and terminal operations.
