SML North America (NA) is a part of SML and has about 1,000 employees across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. We operate the Central Distribution Center in Byhalia, MS as well as Regional Distribution Centers across the NA region.

We have an exciting opportunity for the right individual as a Warehouse Operator for our Regional Distribution Center located in Reno, NV.

This position reports to the Site Manager. The starting pay is $ with performance-based merit increases up to $28 / hour.

Description / Responsibility :

  • You will be responsible for shipping orders to dealers throughout the United States to keep Mack, and Volvo trucks, as well as Volvo Construction Equipment, on the road.
  • You will work with a great team and Lean leaders to meet daily precision goals.
  • You will take all actions needed to provide the dealer network with excellent quality.
  • You will learn multiple functions and participate in a job rotation that keeps you motivated.

  • Your voice can be heard There are daily meetings held to review performance or deviations, plus an annual survey where each employee can submit their opinions on a variety of topics.
  • You will utilize a variety of industrial handling equipment while processing tasks daily.

You will have the authority to :

  • Work with a dedicated shift to unload refill trailers needed to keep our shelves stocked with inventory.
  • Work with a high-energy shift to process stock and critical orders necessary to maintain the inventory of our dealer network.
  • Enhance safety programs and identify any potential risks via Safety Walks.
  • Work closely with your Supervisor to create a personal plan for development and growth.

Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of related experience or training preferred.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions according to established procedures.
  • Ability to work overtime on an as needed basis.
  • Ability to pass a basic skills test which includes reading and mathematics.
  • Ability to speak read and write English.

Physical Demands :

  • Regularly required to reach with arms and hands.
  • Required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools / controls.
  • Required to sit, climb, balance and crouch.
  • Required to be able to lift minimum 70 lbs.
  • Specific vision and hearing abilities required.
  • Required to work at heights up to 25 feet on a raised platform.
  • Required ability to operate material handling equipment

Description / Responsibility :

  • Responsible for the picking and completion of Dealer orders in a safe and timely manner
  • Responsible for the put-away of inbound material according to prescribed procedures while meeting benchmarks set by management and the company
  • Responsible for carrying out all responsibilities in a manner which is not only safe to the individual, but also safe to the environment he / she is working in
  • Ensure all orders are completed with quality as a constant objective while working towards zero errors
  • Participate in all Safety / Quality / Environmental and Improvement programs
  • Participate in all company initiatives such as the Employee Survey, Idea Generation and Lean (VPS)
  • Communicate any irregularities to designated Supervisors or Managers
  • Interact in a respective manner with Co-workers as required
  • Responsible for adhering to all work rules and rules of conduct set by management and the company
  • Adhere to established punctuality and attendance standards
  • Regularly meet multiple deadlines while handling emergency requests in a timely manner
  • Must be available to work any / flexible warehouse shift schedule
  • Must be flexible and be available to work overtime on an as needed basis including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Complies with company rules and policies and follows instructions from supervisory and management personnel

Authority :

  • Authorized to complete any / all Dealer orders from start to finish with the exception that all irregularities must be modified or addressed by a supervisor or other authorized personnel
  • Authorized to complete the put-away process of inbound material with the exception of irregularities must be modified or addressed by a supervisor or other authorized personnel

Qualifications :

  • 3 to 6 months of related material handling experience or training preferred
  • Ability to pass a basic skills test to include reading and mathematics
  • Ability to carry out instructions according to established procedures
  • Ability to work overtime on an as needed basis
