Summary :
The Retail Supervisor is a leader that takes initiative and grows the business of their Visionworks location. This person role models the Visionworks way and supervises the store in the absence of the General Manager.
The RS will also support the General Manager in achieving store financial goals by demonstrating floor leadership, accountability, and providing associate team with coaching to ensure a simple, human and bold patient and customer journey.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Promote the store’s profitability and achievement of sales goals by holding self and team accountable to delivering daily, weekly, and monthly targets
- Role model and engage in all steps of Patient / Customer journey, as well as supervise and redirect associates in exam lane and sales floor
- Support General Manager in managing incoming traffic by coordinating and confirming doctor appointments and scheduled eyewear services
- Coach, motivate, and support associates to perform in their respective roles with excellence to ensure a flawless patient / customer experience
- Remove obstacles and find resolution in the patient / customer experience with General Manager partnership
License State specific responsibilities :
- Analyze and interpret patients’ prescriptions.
- Communicate as necessary with the Optometrist to ensure accuracy of prescription.
- Dispense eyewear
- Final inspection
Education :
- HS Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
- 1-5 years of experience required
- Licensed RS will have a State Opticians License

Retail Receptionist
Summary :
Greet and assist customers. Schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, maintain accurate patient records, and assist with preliminary testing under the Optometrist’s supervision.
Essential Responsibilities :
1. Medical coding, Insurance research, and billing.
2. Greet and assist customers. Schedule appointments according to the Resources Scheduling guidelines. Answer the phone, answer patients’ questions, check patients in and out, collect payments, monitor and perform other front desk tasks as needed.
3. Perform preliminary testing data collection as directed.
4. Maintain complete and accurate patient records.
5. Call for insurance preauthorization. Follow up on hold authorizations.
6. Clean and maintain the reception area.
7. Offer current promotions and pricing guidelines to customers. Discuss benefits and features of the discount club card with customers.
8. Maintain outside and internal Doctor Referral log for medical patients.
9. Offer current promotions and starting prices to customers
Experience / Education :
- One year of experience, optical preferred.
- HS diploma, GED or 1-5 years of equivalent related job experience

The Role :
A Visionworks General Manager (GM) is a leader of others and leader of the business at Visionworks. This person is a smart, business-savvy self-starter who knows their way around profitability and the driving factors of success.
The General Manager will also manage a service driven team to ensure a simple, human and bold patient and customer journey from doctor appointment to eyewear pickup.
- Maximize the store’s profitability without compromising the patient / customer experience by setting and exceeding organization’s financial and performance goals
- Engage regularly with the Doctor to touch base on business needs, associates and patient / customer experience

The Role :
A Visionworks Sr. Optical Specialist is the very face of our business and is dedicated to ensuring the best possible journey for every patient and customer.
This person is trained and knowledgeable about optics, our products / services and managed vision care. The Sr. OS personally takes the patient / customer through the Visionworks experience ensuring their eyewear needs are met in a simple, human and bold way.
A Senior Optical Specialist has 12 mo. prior industry (optical) experience.
The SR. OS currently has and maintains license requirements per state guidelines in this role and dispenses eyewear in states where required and / if licensed.
- Delivers daily sales goals by ensuring the best execution of the Customer / Patient Experience journey
- Engage with patients / customers and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs
- Measure patients / customers for their eyewear and maintain product / optical knowledge through cont. training and development to ensure eyewear is Right the First Time.
May troubleshoot eyewear needs as necessary
Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's financial and customer experience goals including opening and closing the store as needed in LEAD positions only
Qualifications :
- 12 months optical experience necessary (within Visionworks or other organization) or ABO Certification in lieu of experience
