Job Summary :

Under general supervision, responsible for providing advanced administrative support for senior management and executives.

Job Duties :

  • Prepares correspondence, memoranda, reports, or related documents and materials.
  • Initiates routine and non-routine correspondence / memoranda as needed.
  • Prepares and submits requisitions, forms, reimbursements, and vouchers for vendors and staff.
  • Monitors emails and assist with timely and appropriate responses for priority matters.
  • Screens and routes calls and visitors, as appropriate, and resolves routine and complex inquiries.
  • Schedules and maintains calendar of appointments, meetings and travel itineraries, and coordinates related arrangements accordingly.
  • Assists in directly organizing and obtaining documents needed for meetings.
  • Drafts agendas, and prepares and distributes meeting minutes.
  • Manages meeting logistics and takes appropriate actions as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Organizes and maintains files and key documents for appropriate record keeping.
  • Serves as administrative liaison and first point of contact for resource to departments and offices within the institution regarding policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education :

Bachelor's degree in related field is required.Will accept experience in lieu of degree.

Experience :

Five (5) years of related experience is required.

Preferred :

Experience in Higher Education.

Job Summary :

The Division of Gastroenterology & Nutrition in the Department of Medicine / Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant) to enhance patient care for University Health System Advanced Endoscopy Clinic at Mays Cancer Center.

The successful candidate will provide medical care and consultation to patients under the direction and responsibility of a physician, perform medical examinations, order laboratory and medical imaging tests, make preliminary diagnoses, and provide treatment.

Practice is limited by state statute. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities.

Job Duties :

  • Performs physical examinations, orders laboratory and medical imaging tests, makes preliminary diagnoses, and provides treatments.
  • Assists a primary care physician in the diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients by performing a variety of medical or surgical tasks.
  • Instructs and counsels patients on various medical related subjects.
  • Obtains complete medical history from patients, performs physical examinations, organizes and presents the physical data, together with evaluation and recommendations, in such a way as to permit the physician to visualize the problem and determine appropriate diagnostic procedures.
  • Provides follow up and health maintenance care to patients in accordance with established protocols or specific instructions of the physician.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education :

Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program is required.

Experience :

Experience in Gastroenterology / Hepatology preferred.

Additional Licenses and Certifications :

Registration, certification or licensure with the appropriate agency is required.
