Social Worker I

Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the Social Worker I position is to be skilled in interventions for the support and / or resolution of patient and family crises as well as advocacy and facilitation necessitated by life-changing events.

The role includes other functions such as discharge planning. The position functions with considerable autonomy in providing professional social work treatment and services to patients from newborn to elderly and understands the life cycle changes consistent with each age and their families related to their health care and general well-being.

Qualifications

Possession of a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a professional school accredited by the Council of Social Work Education and two (2) years of post MSW experience in a medical setting preferred.

Must be Licensed as an LSW Licensed Social Worker or LCSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensure by the State of New Jersey.

Discharge planning experience in an acute care setting highly desirable. Monday through Friday position; occasionally may be required to follow a varied schedule which may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Inpatient coder

Responsibilities

Follows established hospital inpatient coding guidelines and utilizes Coding Clinic and other resources to ensure compliance with national coding guidelines.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Successful completion of ICD-10 training and skill assessment, as specifically designated by HIM department.

Prior ICD-10 coding experience preferred, but not required. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, Coding Clinic, POA, query guidelines required.

Knowledge of CMS, Medicaid and third-party payer coding, billing and compliance regulations preferred. Prior experience and / or use of an encoder (Clintegrity 360) and Epic electronic health record is a plus.

Must have the ability to balance multiple and changing priorities. Must be able to read, write and speak English and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be detail oriented, accurate, organized, and work well independently. Must have a working knowledge of computers and be able to navigate the internet.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially with the use of Excel, Outlook, and shared files as daily tools. May be required to work evenings and / or weekends.

SECRETARY III

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited program in secretarial studies plus two (2) years of full-time secretarial experience. An additional year of experience is required in lieu of the secretarial program.

Proficiency in typing and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required. College credits may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for secretarial college.

A maximum of sixty (60) credits or two (2) years may be substituted for two (2) years of secretarial experience.
