POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Responds to all trouble calls concerning on-line service, network or end-user related problems. Provides an interface for end-users seeking assistance.
Documents problem calls and either solves or ensures timely escalation to appropriate support level. Promotes the Health System's Guest Relations Policy.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE A
ssociates degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Specialized courses in Information Services are preferred.
Administrative Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the management of the day-to-day business activities with regard to Health System operations, internal and external mail delivery, and facilities management.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or its equivalent required. One year of experience in general office clerical work is required. Two years of Experience Preferred.
One year of related college level course work (24 credit hours) may be substituted for 6 months experience. College or commercial school courses in business functions are preferred.
Electrician
POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides services required for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various electrical components. Ensures prompt and proficient performance of assigned duties.
Complies with UHS and departmental policies and procedures. Maintains good guest and working relations.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school graduation or equivalent required. A minimum of two years working as a journeyman or apprentice electrician required.
Must have a basic understanding of safety practices, state and local electrical codes, electrical circuits, motors, switches and switching gear.
The ability to speak, read, and write English, make simple calculations, and follow simple written and oral directions is required.
One year as a hospital electrician preferred.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
A valid Texas State driver’s license Class C and must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
Medical Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides indirect and direct patient care activities and performs clerical duties under direct supervision of the provider / licensed nurse.
Supports and maintains University Health System's policies, protocols, values and guest relations.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED is required. Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or certification from an approved credentialing body for medical assistants is required.
National certification as a registered Medical Assistant is preferred. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
One-year experience in a clinic, doctor’s office or ambulatory setting is desirable, but not required.
Specialty Physician Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides primary health care and performs selective medical services under the direction of specialty physicians. Responsible for diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients by completing medical histories, conducting physicals, establishing diagnosis through tests, and formulating treatment plans.
Provides follow-up and health maintenance care of patients in accordance with protocols approved by a physician.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Successful Completion of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or by that committee's predecessor or successor entities is required.
One year of training in the appropriate specialty is required.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is recommended. Must be currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas.
Must maintain current AHA BLS or higher in accordance with Medical-Dental Staff and UMA bylaws. Valid DEA number must be obtained within 90-days of hire.
Master Social Worker
POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Assesses adult and pediatric pre-transplant and post-transplant patients’ needs and assists with personal, financial, and environmental difficulties which prevent the patient from accessing medical care / transplant regimen.
Counsels and assists patients and their families in receiving maximum benefits from third party payers for medical care.
Participates in the evaluation process of transplant candidacy and living donor candidacy by completing psychosocial assessment and making recommendations for listing in transplant team conferences.
Provides social services to all transplant patients both in hospital setting and in outpatient transplant clinic. Travels to out of town satellite clinics to perform psychosocial assessments as part of transplant evaluation and living donor evaluation.
Advocates for transplant patients to assist them in obtaining needed services, funding, and medications; organizes family conferences, provides supportive counseling, facilitates transplant support group, participates in pre-op transplant class and serves as a member of multi-disciplinary health team.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work required. One year of post-Masters degree experience in a health care setting is preferred.
LICENSURE
Current state licensure from the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners is required.
