Summary :

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Job Duties :

  • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
  • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Summary :

Manages anesthesiology services to ensure efficient daily operations. Provides leadership, clinical expertise and direction.

Focuses on planning, program implementation and evaluation.

Work Schedule : Full Time Days

Responsibilities :

Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.

Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems / equipment / supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and / or stock supplies.

Maintains service agreements for anesthesia equipment. Audits processes, and regulatory and compliance requirements. Reviews and oversees patient billings within the department.

Participates in clinical teaching for Anesthesiology medical students, residents and SRNA's.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Required Education :

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Preferred : Bachelor's degree.

Required Licensure / Certification :

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
  • Preferred : Certified Anesthesia Technician from American Society of Anesthesia Technologists & Technicians.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.

BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.

American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

2 years of experience leading Anesthesia Technicians.
