Trinity Industriesis hiring a Security Officer in our Saginaw, TX plant!

The Security Officer conducts regular monitoring of our property, as well as serving as the first point of contact for visitors entering the building or property, which may vary from location to location.

This individual also assists with investigating on-site incidents, preventing theft, and calmly mitigating escalated situations.

Additionally, the Security Officer acts as a liaison between customers, visitors and employees, as well as prepares documentation necessary to support the security administration program.

What you'll do :

  • Ability to work year-round, inside and outside of buildings, with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis
  • Ability to work on various surfaces and environmental terrain including but not limited to tile, wood, concrete, asphalt, grass, curbs, uneven gravel and dirt
  • Ability to maneuver safely up and down flights of stairs multiple times during a shift
  • Ability to lift, carry or push weight in the following range : 5-25 lbs
  • Ability to stand and / or sit at an assigned post for several hours at a time
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with high levels of noise, dust, dirt, heavy equipment and manufacturing machinery such as : cranes, forklifts, presses, grinders, steel plates, welding equipment, etc.
  • Ability to work alone throughout shift, including nights

What you'll need :

  • High school education (or equivalent) required
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working as a Security Officer
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interface effectively with individuals of all levels
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Prior knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business and / or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to work shift work required; days, swing, nights, weekends and holidays year-round
  • Prior experience and enforcement of procedures and policies preferred

What You'll Do :

  • Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding.
  • Tack-welds pieces together.
  • Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weld able materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches using manual, automatic welding and / or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • May lay out and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies.
  • May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
  • Observes all standard safety practices, maintains, and completes all required records.
  • Follows all safety committees or initiatives.
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need :

  • 1 - 2 years of related experience
  • Hand wells in all positions groove and fillet.
  • Performs repairs to subassemblies for final product.
  • Performs oxy-fuel welding.
  • Performs carbon arc welding.
  • Conducts one or two NDE tests
  • Performs as Level 2 Fitter / Welder
  • Welds to stainless and carbon steel may repair aluminum
  • Performs TIG welding (stainless & aluminum)
