POSITION SUMMARY
TRC is seeking an environmental scientist to join our growing Engineering, Construction and Remediation Practice in New York City, NY.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual and have 0-2 years of environmental due diligence consulting experience, in support of a wide variety of property transactions ranging from schools to industrial properties.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Perform community air monitoring at various Sites throughout NYC.
- Management and preparation of Indoor Air Quality Investigations, Community Air Monitoring Plans, Health and Safety Plans, and other environmental assessments and investigations.
- Perform Site inspections and field work including soil, stormwater, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling.
- Prepare standard logs and field forms (such as boring logs, daily summary reports, and chains of custody)
- Underground and Aboveground Storage Tank Management.
- Remedial Investigation Work Plan Preparation, Implementation and Oversight.
Requirements
Required experience :
- B.S. or B.A. in environmental science, geology or engineering.
- 0 to 2 years of environmental consulting experience with primary focus on field investigations and sampling.
- 40-hr HAZWOPER and 10-hr Construction certification would be a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Required skills :
- Ability to work on long-term field assignments in the NYC area.
- Demonstrates excellence and efficiency in writing, communication, data analysis, professional judgment, and knowledge of scientific principles.
- Strong sense of responsibility and work ethic.
- Strong quality assurance / quality control skills and detail-oriented to perform technical, style and consistency reviews.
- Ability to manage time and multiple project assignments.
- Understanding of standards, regulations and guidance that apply to environmental due diligence, especially ASTM, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, and New York City Mayor’s Office of Environmental Remediation.
- Working knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Exposure to environmental consulting work in New York City a plus.
- Ability to work in a project team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
COMPENSATION
In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition : $60,000 - 75,000.
Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

POSITION SUMMARY
TRC is seeking one or more full-time entry level Environmental Scientists to report to our Waltham, Massachusetts office.
The successful candidates will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists to complete a variety of technical tasks and projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with other scientists, engineers, and regulatory specialists to support a wide variety of project types, including those that span water resources, renewable energy and transmission infrastructure, site due diligence and remediation, and industrial compliance.
This will require the ability to understand, synthesize, and communicate information across a broad range of disciplines.
- Participate in water-based and terrestrial field programs.
- Compile and analyze ecological and other environmental data.
- Write reports and impact assessments.
- Prepare permit applications and attend project-related meetings.
- Abide by Company policies and procedures.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Ecology, Fisheries, Wetland Science, Geosciences, Environmental Science or similar focus.
- Related internship or work experience.
- Ability to work in Massachusetts.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Willing and able to perform outdoor field sampling activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficiency with standard office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Being comfortable on boats and experience piloting small boats is preferred but not required
- Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, or other advanced software applications is preferred but not required.

With more than 200 air quality scientists and engineers operating from a network of 17 offices, TRC's Air Measurement Services (AMS) practice offers unparalleled breadth and depth of air quality testing capabilities.
TRC has an immediate opening for an Entry-Level Emissions Testing Technician with our Air Measurement Services (AMS) Practice in Golden, CO .
The successful candidate will work with a talented staff already in place to continue serving clients and generating new growth in the surrounding area.
This position offers a significant amount of field work, and travel up to 75% of the time. It may require some weekend work and extended travel.
A current and valid passport is a plus.

Responsibilities :
- Successfully complete all required annual safety training
- Maintain valid DOT driver status to facilitate mobilization of equipment to job sites
- Work under the supervision of Project Managers and Field Team Leaders to set up equipment and collect air emissions samples at industrial locations that may include tall stacks.
- Be able to lift and carry a 50 pound load, climb ladders, and be comfortable working at heights.
- Support equipment repair, calibration and maintenance
Skills / Requirements
- Ability to pass an initial drug screen (including marijuana), and on-going random drug checks.
- Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- High School diploma or GED is required, college degree in science or engineering preferred

Compensation

This position would be part of a skilled team that works in-house with one of our key clients, providing technical support for waste management and reporting, permitting, and regulatory compliance projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Perform environmental compliance tasks, including, but not limited to RCRA compliance, permit and registration applications and renewals, SPCC planning, and hazardous waste reporting.
- Deliver Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Materials Management Services to our key client.
- Support management of medium-to-large, complex tasks to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Maintain and update client’s database related to waste.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering (environmental, civil, or chemical), or Geology / Geosciences, from an accredited university.
- 0 - 2 years of experience in environmental consulting.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and outstanding oral and written communication skills allowing for positive internal, client, and contractor relationships.
- Solid technical writing, data management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen and OSHA physical.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with annual / biennial waste reporting.
- Knowledge of RCRA and hazardous waste policy and regulations.
- Compliance and hazardous waste management experience.
- Familiar with laboratory analytical testing and data report reviews / interpretation.
- Experience with waste reporting and / or DMR software.
