Data Analyst

Overview

The Data Analyst position is responsible for managing, collecting, reporting, and analyzing data to inform academic and institutional effectiveness decision-making at Touro University.

The Data Analyst will serve the Office of Assessment and Planning by ensuring the integrity of the college’s data and assessment implementation analysis and reporting.

This position will also be responsible for assisting with the completion of internal / external assessment instrument design and reporting as well as custom reports for the institution.

This role will also work on select projects directly with the Director of the Office academic departments and Senior Management.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Assist with collection, analysis, and submission of institutional data.
  • Develop cyclical and ad-hoc data reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with and analyze large complex data sets to inform academic decision-making.
  • Translate institutional requirements into specifications to provide institutional reports, analytic dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Remain abreast of process modifications and data collection relating to academics, student services, human resources, and finance.
  • Continually assess existing processes and procedures for possible areas of improvement and provides feedback to supervisor.
  • Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data.
  • Create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed.
  • Answer questions, solve problems effectively, and escalate appropriately.
  • Perform special projects and assignments as requested.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 1-3 years of relevant experience (preferably in data analytics, statistics, computer science, information technology, or related field).
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience with SPSS, Qualtrics, and MS Office platforms
  • Experience with Tableau and SQL a plus
  • SPSS Statistical Programming package experience and ability to manipulate and perform statistical analyses on institutional / program data.
  • Qualtrics experience with knowledge of survey question design and creation, collection analysis, and reporting.
  • A strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices especially with large / complex datasets like SQL

  • Ability to QA and troubleshoot and visualize data
  • Ability to assess and provide recommendations for improving research processes

Administrative assistant

Overview

The Administrative Assistant works closely with the Program Director and Admissions Department to help orchestrate the academic phase and admissions process of the Manhattan Physician Assistant Program.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to the Program but not limited to the following :

  • SchedulingCoordinates with the Admissions Department and Program Director in scheduling interviews for prospective students to the ProgramAssist students with registering for courses and dropping / changing courses
  • Records MaintenanceStudent files- Prospective incoming and current studentsTest files : Examsoft
  • Statistical compilation / reporting Health FormsCollect health forms for incoming studentsInsures review by Medical Director
  • Filing : Maintain prospective and current student files in the office as well as files on BOXMaintains health form files

Qualifications

Education / Experience :

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook.
  • Familiarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Blackboard, and Adobe Connect.

Overview

House Keepers are assigned to each Academic Building to maintain public / common areas to assist in eliminating distractions such as unwanted graffiti, dust / dirt, and unwanted smells from the learning environment and to assist in the protection of the faculty, employees, and student’s health and safety.

Responsibilities

Cleans all areas of the building including but not limited to the following and other duties as assigned :

  • Empties and cleans waste receptacles and replaces bags as necessary.
  • Thoroughly vacuums including all edges of carpeted floors.
  • Arranges furniture to its original position.
  • Reports any damage or vandalism to your House Keeper or supervisor.
  • Cleans glass to classroom entrance doors.
  • Wet mops hard floors as weather and usage conditions dictate (daily during winter months).
  • Dusts exposed horizontal surfaces such as window sills, empty shelves, door casings, and bottoms of furniture (NOTE : In scientific laboratories bench tops and hoods are not to be cleaned by House Keeping).
  • Replaces light bulbs as necessary.
  • Clean all glass.
  • Keep all entrances clean.
  • Other duties as assigned

RESTROOMS : DAILY

  • Empties trash receptacles cleans as needed and replaces bag liners.
  • Checks and replaces all paper products such as tissue and hand towels as needed.
  • Checks and fills soap dispensers as necessary.
  • Cleans and disinfects sinks, toilet seats, and side panels to stall partitions.
  • Cleans mirrors.
  • Cleans entrance panels to stalls of fingerprints, etc

  • Requires regular, reliable, and predictable work attendance
  • Ability to operate custodial and maintenance equipment
  • Good knowledge of proper chemical storage use and inventory
