Medical Assistant - Neurology
Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant assists physicians as they assess, examine and treat patients. Responsibilities include patient flow management and various diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and vitals.
Acts as liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction. Maintains and orders supplies for their area as needed.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.
- Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
- Remains proficient and knowledgeable regarding the use and documentation requirements within information technology systems within established scope of practice.
- Assists physicians with examinations, various diagnostic procedures, and may perform EKG and venipuncture / injections in the office, using appropriate skills to provide quality care to the patients.
- Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
- Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and to facilitate smooth operations of the office.
Qualifications
Education :
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures
Preferred Experience :
Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.

Social Worker Per Diem MossRehab
Responsibilities
Providing services to assist patients and their families meet their biopsychosocial needs by enabling them to access and utilize medical care and community resources Achieving expected functional outcomes with specific regard to the patient's age and physical limitations Providing medical management coordination to enhance the efficiency of delivery of care by improved and prioritized scheduling of services and appropriate allocation of resources Providing consultation and teaching to the team as needed This position requires providing service to the following age population(s) : AD, A, O, F, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional / developmental age of the individual served The premise of this position is to follow up with patient's recently discharged from MossRehab to ensure a safe transition back into their community.
Social Worker will make scheduled contacts with patients to ensure that the correct durable medical equipment has been received at home, to review medications and follow up physician appointments.
Qualifications
MSW, MSS, or BSW with experience preferred
Bachelor's degree or MS in a related field may be considered based upon experience and knowledge of care management and discharge planning
Three to five years of clinical experience in healthcare preferred, preferably in a rehabilitation hospital
LSW optional

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check.
The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
