- Type abstracts and manuscripts according to specific grant formats.
- Maintain calendars for the physicians and supervisors.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
- Arrange travel itineraries and prepare expense reports.
- Sustain elaborate confidential patient and general office files.
- Arrange conferences by the department specifications, including booking rooms, catering, and equipment.
- Coordinate human resource activities for the department, including processing confidential paperwork, maintaining records, performance appraisals, and job information.
Administrative Assistant ’s Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required; An associate or bachelor’s degree is highly recommended.
- Specialized training in secretarial skills, such as word processing and business, is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of secretarial experience, including advanced secretarial duties, is required.
- A minimum of 2 years in a healthcare environment or a related field is required.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat is required.
- Essential customer service, and attention to detail, including written and verbal communication skills, are required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

- Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistant is required.
- Knowledge of standard healthcare practices and medical terminology preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
