Server Job Duties

Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.

Prepare food, etc., in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as with our established policies and procedures.

  • Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties.
  • Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
  • Server will distribute and collect menus as necessary.
  • Obtain food supplies for next meal.
  • Checking diet trays for accuracy before distribution. Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident's meal tray.
  • Server to deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas.
  • Prepare and deliver snacks, etc., as instructed.
  • Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
  • Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
  • Server will assist in food preparation for special meals for parties, etc.

  • Server must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.

Prepare cold food items (e.g., prep salad dressings, fruit trays, fill soup cups and other tasks as assigned).

  • Follow sanitary regulations at all times.
  • Provide Platinum Service with each dining experience.
  • Set up meal trays, food carts and set up the dining room with utensils, salt and pepper, napkins, and clean common areas prior and after meals are served.
  • Assist in checking resident trays before distribution.
  • Deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.
  • Pour hot and cold beverages for residents. Assist residents with opening their containers and condiments as needed. Pay special attention to resident and guest needs while they are enjoying their dining experience.
  • Prepare and deliver snacks to special events and parties hosted at the community.
  • Bus tables during and after the meals.
  • Stock food and supplies properly and clean storage areas as directed.
  • Provide support services to other dining rooms, during events and activities as needed.
  • Attend trainings and employee meetings as directed by Supervisor(s).
  • Clean and follow daily cleaning tasks.
