GENERAL DUTIES
Under direct supervision, performs common unskilled laboring work requiring physical strength but little skill or training.
Moves, lifts and carries items of various weights and sizes. May be required to operate motor vehicles and equipment in connection with the performance of duties. Performs related work.
Moves, lifts and carries heavy objects and materials. May make use of hand or power-driven equipment in the performance of these duties.
Mows, prunes, cultivates and maintains lawns, shrubs and trees. Assists in grading, seeding, planting, sodding, cultivation and fertilizing.
Operates manual and / or power- driven equipment in the performance of the above tasks.
Assists in the development and exhibition of botanical collection and in the provision of appropriate care for planting lawns.
Regulates the use of campus areas and facilities in accordance with campus rules and regulations.
Makes periodic inspections and performs required maintenance on outdoor equipment, fences, walks, campus grounds, beaches, etc.
Engages in general maintenance and clean-up activities in outdoor areas of the campus and surrounding areas.
Clears debris, snow and ice from walkways, stairs and other byways for safe access.
Rakes and clears leaves from grounds and surrounding areas.
Operates equipment including mowers, leaf blowers, snow blowers, trimmers, tractors, trucks, chain saws, forklifts and related equipment required in the performance of these duties.
Assists skilled craftsmen.
Engages in waste management operations.
Loads and unloads heavy equipment and materials at loading / unloading platforms as well as moving or delivery vans or trucks.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Department of Tourism and Hospitality at Kingsborough Community College (KCC) is seeking a professional with experience in the hospitality industry to expand KCC's employer partnerships in this industry sector and assist in preparing and connecting college students to relevant work experiences.
Build employer relationships / partnerships for employment and internships in the hotel, culinary and hospitality industries
Create and moderate a job board and associated content across multiple social media platforms
Assist in the documentation and collection of internship and job placement contacts
Create a database of the skill sets employers wish to see in potential employees / internship candidates
Conduct outreach to potential employers and foster relationships that result in new internship and apprenticeship opportunities
Collaborate with the Office of Career Development to work with the hotel, culinary, and hospitality students in career exploration, job readiness services / workshops and internship / employment-search strategies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Baccalaureate degree and at least four years of relevant experience. Master degree, preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in the hospitality sector, as well as experience working with college students.
Outstanding verbal, written and interspersonal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively in asynchronous and synchronous online environments.
Strong organization, project management, communication, technological, and facilitation skills. Ability to work with cross-departmental functions in a collaborative manner to resolve student challenges.
Required : Ability to work a flexible in-person schedule (a remote option is not available).
COMPENSATION
This is a part-time grant funded position, 15 hours per week at $ per hour.
