We are currently seeking a part-time Environmental Technician with 3 to 10+ years of experience to provide support on a variety of projects and programs, including support for federal, state, and local government contracts, as well as commercial clients.

This position will involve providing technical support in the areas of emergency response, environmental investigation, and remediation.
Members of the emergency response team are responsible for maintaining on-call readiness to handle emergency responses and provide remedial and restoration guidance / solutions to clients throughout the Midwest and across the United States, including the oversight of site operations and health and safety.
Responsibilities will include multi-media environmental sampling, field audits and inspections, organizing and reviewing data, preparing reports, records review, collection of air monitoring data, training and exercise support, contractor oversight, and related activities.
Additional responsibilities and opportunities may also include task and project management and other consulting activities for a variety of government and private sector clients.
In this position you will be part of a project team, gaining valuable data collection experience in the field and preparing detailed analysis of field data and project reports.

Qualifications :
This position requires a minimum of 3 to 10+ years of experience. Desired skills in the ideal candidate include but are not limited to :
- Multimedia sampling experience preferred.
- Experience in environmental monitoring.
- Experience executing tasks based on SOPs and approved site plans.
- Written and photographic documentation as part of oversight.
- Proactive communication.
- Solution-oriented.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Ability to review and understand standard operating procedures, and maintain and calibrate monitoring equipment.

- This position requires you to drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

Physical Demands :
- Heavy lifting of field sampling and other equipment will be required.

Work Environment :

These sites may be outdoors, exposing the candidate to weather conditions and varying terrain.
- Site work may involve long periods of time in a motor vehicle.

Summary :
This position provides mechanical engineering expertise of design services for chemical and power piping systems; HVAC systems;
material handling systems; and general arrangements for industrial and commercial projects.
Your Role :
- Perform discrete or integrated project mechanical engineering and design work by assigning and overseeing the work and by taking an active role in the work.
- Perform project definition, generate, and review project requirements.

Your Role :
- Prepare environmental documents including NEPA documents (CatEx's, EA's, and EIS's), wetland delineation reports, permit applications, Endangered Species Act documents (BA's, BE's, and no effect letters), and other related documents
- Manage and lead tasks associated with environmental projects, including assisting with developing proposals and cost estimates, executing project tasks, managing project budgets and forecasts, ensuring client satisfaction, and mentoring staff
- Direct and oversee NEPA projects, permitting, wetland delineations, resource analysis, agency coordination, and public outreach, as well as budget and project tracking
- Work with environmental, regulatory and land use agencies to obtain permits and project approvals, such as : U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.
S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), and / or National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), state agencies, and local county and city planning departments
- Use GIS for mapping, collecting field data, and occasionally data analysis
- Manage multiple tasks and projects, coordinate effectively with others, and work independently within a team setting
- Research and interpret federal, state, and local regulations on a project-specific basis to assess project permitting feasibility and requirements, and interface with regulatory agencies
- Interface with clients during project execution to ensure their needs and concerns are addressed
Required Qualifications :
- B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Marine Science, Geography, Biology, or related degree
- 5 to 15+ years related experience in a wide variety of technical areas, and potentially including experience with project management and leading / managing technical teams
- Ability to produce written reports and related documents that demonstrate solid technical writing and critical thinking capabilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications :

Your Role
- Perform HVAC load calculations, hydronic and fan pressure loss calculations, and ventilation calculations in conformance with applicable codes and energy efficiency standards.
- Provide energy compliance evaluations for buildings utilizing COMcheck or similar software.
- Develop specifications using MasterSpec & SpecText.
- Size equipment and develop layouts for airside and hydronic systems.
- Coordinate with other disciplines as well as other internal and external team members (e.g. vendors, clients, and contractors).
- Prepare construction documents including drafting utilizing REVIT.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of control systems, protocols, interfaces, and apply concepts to construction documents.
- Perform construction assistance in the form of responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and performing construction site field observations reports, and preparing punch lists during various stages of construction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- 5-10 years experience
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state where the main body of work is located, or ability to obtain by comity within 12 months.
- Proficiency utilizing Trane Trace / 3D Plus for load calculations but considerable experience in other platforms such as Carrier HAP is acceptable.
- Experience with RS Means, and general exposure to construction estimating.
- Knowledge of building mechanical equipment including fans, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, chilled and hot water loops, boilers, motors, pumps, variable speed drives, heat exchangers, direct digital temperature controls and building automation systems.
- Familiarity with design of plumbing systems and / or performance-based fire protection systems desired but not required.
- Intermediate knowledge of ICC Codes, ASHRAE handbooks / standards, SMACNA standards, and NFPA requirements.
- REVIT / BIM / AutoCAD experience required.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and computer skills required.
- Ability to travel as required for client development and project execution.
- LEED, CDT, and / or CEM certification is desired but not required.

- Experience working on field projects under federal and state regulatory programs.
- Previous experience working on EPA projects a plus
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations is expected

Work Environment
The work involves both office and field environments. Field work and travel are expected. Fieldwork requires regular and recurring work in variable outdoor environments, packing heavy equipment, and excavations using hand tools.
A physical capacity for working outdoors, often in isolated areas, is required. Work is performed where terrain may be steep, uneven, rocky, and covered with vegetation.
Climate ranges from extremely dry to extremely wet and from hot to cold. Rain, snow, wind, or dust may be encountered. The work may require the use of protective clothing.
- Field work is anticipated to be in remote areas. You must also be able to work in outdoor areas during all seasons, both hot and cold.
- Must be able to conduct fieldwork in a variety of environments and topography, including walking on uneven terrain.

Summary :
Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking an entry to mid-level Geoscientist experienced in performing Environmental Assessments and other investigative activities for our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office.
Experience in the oil and gas environmental industry is a plus. The work will primarily be located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.
The candidate should have a fundamental understanding and working knowledge of environmental rules and regulations in the above listed states.
The successful candidate will work on a variety of environmental permitting / site investigation / remediation projects and site investigations at industrial / commercial sites and / or government installations and conduct site assessment for real estate transactions.
Duties will include performing routine, well-defined field and office assignments (technical and non-technical) including planning, conducting, and reporting on field investigations involving well installations, soil and groundwater sampling, aquifer testing and hydrogeology.
Work may be conducted under a variety of regulatory programs (Oil and Gas, UST, Brownfields) primarily in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.
Will receive detailed instructions on work objectives, complex features and possible solutions and will receive close supervision and review of work.
With experience, may be assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Your Role :
- Field Activities including drill inspection and logging, sampling various environmental matrices and wastes, monitoring well installations, Phase I ESAs, data collection analysis and interpretation.
