Environmental Scientist

Summary

The individual will primarily provide support and coordination for environmental projects and tasks, which includes filed work, as well as assist with the preparation of reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, geology, botany, wildlife biology, engineering or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience assisting with environmental projects and tasks under the supervision of a Senior Environmental Scientist or Division Manager
  • Detail oriented with the ability to balance project priorities to ensure successful completion
  • Ability to perform field work

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work with office machinery including computers, fax machine, copier, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team

Essential Functions

  • Provide assistance on environmental site assessment field work and reports
  • Perform field activities which may include assisting with soil and groundwater sampling
  • Perform office activities including project planning, permitting, subcontractor contracting, data compilation and presentation, and report preparation
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be at site locations (both on the ground and on building roof tops), sit, stand, walk, use both hands, and reach and raise items above the head, use fingers to feel and handle, talk and hear.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds

Work Environment

Approximately 25% performed in an external environment, on-site, outdoors, exposed to the elements of nature working under normal construction conditions.

Approximately 75% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.

Project Manager - OSP Denver Location : Denver, CO Tower Engineering Professionals is seeking a full-time Project Manager in our Denver, CO office.

Project Manager Responsibilities :

  • Work both in an office and field environment conducting the management of construction activities for aerial & underground fiber optic cable facilities
  • Work with vendors and in-house staff to develop estimates and schedules in response to client requests for design build services of outside plant fiber optic networks and supporting projects
  • Manage field and office staff to ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule, under budget, and reflect client requirements and best engineering practices.
  • Manage and drive quality standards in accordance with project specifications.
  • Communicate effectively and daily with design project managers, engineers, drafters and administrative personnel
  • Communicate with clients including regular site and office meetings to develop projects for which a quotation has been requested
  • Manage in-house fiber engineering team and equipment
  • Perform administrative tasks as required
  • Compile and post monthly invoicing for assigned projects and be able to report on project performance and profitability
  • Manage company health and safety plan and develop processes for the effective protection of the public, company and vendor personnel
  • Prepare, review and revise vendor and client contracts associated with construction services.
  • Compile construction conflicts from field staff or proposed changes and develop solutions in conjunction with design engineers

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunication and / or electrical distribution systems, engineering principles, constructability and design standards
  • 5+ years of managing field and / or office staff
  • 2+ years of CAD experience
  • Previous experience with GIS or LiDar is a plus
  • Excellent oral / written communication skills, strong organizational skills, high level of integrity, and strong team player.
  • Communicate ideas for improving field processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others
  • Keeps executive leadership informed about project status and issues regarding constructability and progress as well as issues that could affect client relations.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience in utility construction is preferred.
  • Based on the applicant’s experience, education and skill level, there are potential growth opportunities to advance into a senior project manager role
  • Individual must be available to mobilize when scheduled and must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) dating back 5 years.
  • Ability to work in adverse settings and climatic conditions
  • Skilled at managing assigned tasks with little supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to stand, bend, squat, walk, move, lift, carry equipment (>

20lb) for the duration of the work day
