Qualifications

  • State of Florida Paramedic Certification.
  • Minimum five years’ experience as a Paramedic.
  • AHA ACLS, PALS, BLS certifications required .
  • NRP certification preferred or completion within 6 months of hire.
  • Advanced certification such as FP-C or CCP-C preferred or completion within 2 years of hire required in accordance with Aeromed CAMTS accreditation standards.
  • Advanced Trauma certification such as ATLS audit or equivalent advanced trauma education preferred.
  • Water egress course completion required within 1 year of hire.
  • Department of Transportation air crew course curriculum content is a component of the Aeromed initial orientation process with successful completion of content required by the end of orientation.
  • Adherence with TGH and Aeromed Department BMI standards are required.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the air medical transport environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Excellent public relations skill.

Job Summary

Under general supervision of the department manager and Office Supervisor, the Medical Assistant Technician (MAT) 3 follows established policies, procedures and professional guidelines.

Gathers and records all necessary information in the process of generating a hospital account. Responsible for interviewing patients to confirm or obtain demographic and confidential clinical and financial information, necessary to accurately and efficiently register, verify insurance eligibility, collect patient copayments and identify those services that require an insurance authorization.

Able to identify and explain forms that require the patient’s signature. Provides clinical support such as assistance with medical procedures, cleaning of equipment, filing of records, retrieval of information, and performance of screening examinations.

Department Profile The Case Management Department is an integrated model with registered nurse and social work case managers.

The case managers work together to assess patient and family needs across the hospital. They work collaboratively with all disciplines, patients, and families to achieve mutually agreed upon care goals.

Case managers facilitate multi-disciplinary rounds to effectively transition patients safely to the next level of care and manage throughput initiatives.

Our emergency department is staffed 24 / 7 with case managers and we have a dedicated observation management team. General Summary

The Social Worker creates optimal outcomes for the patient and family by managing complex psychosocial and economic co-morbidities.

Through advanced practice skills mobilizes resources to reduce risk and serves as ambassador between hospital and community.

Provides social work services to patients and families to optimize their ability to benefit from treatment, cope with the realities of their medical condition, and participate in their care.

Coordinates transitions of care for patients with high psychosocial needs. Develops and maintains current knowledge of and liaisons with local, state, and federal services that may provide education and resources to patients and families.

Supports the efforts of HIM and Patient Accounts by ensuring timely, accurate, and complete data entry in multiple information systems / data bases.

Ensures understanding through collaboration with Care Manager and other interdisciplinary team members for review of multidisciplinary plan of care in patient chart (estimated LOS, tentative discharge date, assessed needs for discharge, and plan discussed with patient / family).

Ensures attendance at Multidisciplinary Rounds or Huddles and reports on psychosocial status and its implication for transitions of care.
