OVERVIEW :

The main function of a warehouse supervisor is to oversee warehouse employees in order to meet business objectives for assigned departments regarding safety, quality productivity, responsiveness, and more.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Counsel and support hourly employees with needs / concerns as required.
  • Address performance behaviors by commending those that are positives and discouraging those that are negative.
  • Uses Quality Network problem solving process to address opportunities within area and engage work force for ideas.
  • Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) process to improve layouts and efficiency.
  • Perform daily Timekeeping System (TKS) updating to ensure accurate processing of payroll data.
  • Use A-3 reporting format to document problem solving activities and observe local A-3 guidelines.
  • Conduct daily meetings to communicate business performance and have two-way discussions with employees.
  • Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of departments.
  • Plan daily workloads in advance.
  • Support colleagues to optimize shift performance.
  • Observe contractual requirements (National and Local).
  • Enforce Shop Rules.
  • Perform daily SOP audit checks.
  • Advance skills through Individual Development Plan (IDP) process.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • 4+ years recent experience in mechanical product design using CREO parametric); knowledgeable of standard CAD policies and procedures for mechanical design.
  • Experience in creating new mechanical designs and drawings from scratch to interface with numerous complex mechanical interfaces.
  • Experience in implementing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ASME Y14.5 standards and interface design.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing best practices and implementation of drawing details to allow for efficient communication to manufacturing organization.
  • Bonus : Experience in releasing documentation in EPDM (LM implementation of Windchill); the following will need to be created as part of the design efforts : drawing trees, parts lists, native CAD files, detailed drawings, ICDs, etc.).
  • Bonus : Experience in LM SSC design review process and requirements (DoD Development lifecycle SRR, PDR, CDR, MaRR) and familiarity of seeing product through initial manufacturing and production via subcontractor.

Electrician

Talascend is currently seeking a 1st Shift Electrician for a direct hire opportunity with our client located in Melrose Park, IL.

OVERVIEW :

1st shift : 5am 2pm Monday Friday, with OT as needed.

The Electrician position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting all production equipment to maintain optimum operating conditions and plant productivity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform work activities utilizing 120 V, 240 V, 480 V- and 24-volts DC.
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, and assemble connections to control panels, junction boxes and electrical installation.
  • Troubleshoot motors and drives.
  • Inspect, test and clean AC and DC motors and replace brushes as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC motor controls, single and 3 phase electrical circuits, electronic drives, and PLC controls.
  • Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters and megohmmeters.
  • Operate high-lift equipment like forklifts, scissor, and boom lift.
  • Communicate essential information regarding incomplete repairs at shift change and any potential problems.
  • Connect Power Supply wires to machine and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines following electrical codes.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, PLC's and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wired cables.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, potentiometers and positions sensing devices.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of assigned equipment like tight electrical connection, replace filters and clean inside the electrical cabinets.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • At least 3 years of related electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Spanish or English.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to read electrical and ethernet connection schematics.
  • Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting using software such as RS Logix 500 and 5000, Omron and Siemens.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold conditions. Our plant is not climate-controlled.

OVERVIEW :

Included are process technical instructions, routers, quality documents, risk assessments, HSE assessments, PFMEA's, and cost analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • HSE - Ensure that manufacturing processes are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm program.
  • Technical Instructions - create documents providing instructions to process operators for completion of manufacturing HT3 blades.
  • Quality - create documents and templates for controlling, collecting, and analyzing data for capability assessments.
  • Process routers - create document detailing the sequence of manufacturing operations
  • Risk Assessments - assess and document risks associated with implementation and operation of manufacturing processes.
  • PFMEA - complete PFMEA's for all manufacturing steps for Castbond HT3 blades.
  • Cost - document piece part production costs; document implementation costs for new processes
