Job Description

We are looking for an organized and computer-literate medical administrative assistant to be responsible for our healthcare facility's front desk tasks.

These tasks include answering phone calls, managing appointment bookings and updating the facility's system with patients' information.

To be successful as a medical administrative assistant you must be able to keep patients' information confidential and exercise patience when working with potentially difficult individuals.

A good administrative assistant has great attention to detail and can prioritize tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities for Medical Administrative Assistant

  • Answer and direct phone calls.
  • Respond to emails.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Greet patients upon arrival.
  • Collect patients' personal information.
  • Validate payment methods and medical insurance coverage.
  • Record patients' information in the computer system
  • Issue invoices to clients.
  • Organize and schedule appointments.
  • Plan meetings and take detailed minutes.
  • Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms.
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
  • Develop and maintain a filing system.
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures.
  • Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers
  • Maintain contact lists.
  • Book travel arrangements
  • Submit and reconcile expense reports.
  • Provide general support to visitors.
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients
  • Liaise with executive and senior administrative assistants to handle requests and queries from senior managers.

Qualifications for Medical Administrative Assistant

  • Excellent computer literacy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Prior experience in an administrative role would be advantageous. Benefits & Pay
  • Hourly : $13.00-17.00

Nurse Practioner / Physician Assistant

This position is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of Pain practice related injuries and illness within the scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant and under the direction of The Center for Wellness and Pain Care Physicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :

  • Obtains appropriate medical history and physical data on patients. Reviews existing patient records.
  • Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
  • Performs appropriate level of physical exam and documents findings. Establishes presumptive diagnosis.
  • Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
  • Administers injections and oral medications. Sutures wounds. Orders appropriate casting and durable medical equipment (DME).

Applies when necessary.

  • Instructs patient and family regarding medications, treatment instructions, and possible outcomes to watch for.
  • Consult appropriately with physicians and other health professionals regarding patient status. Ensures that physicians are kept informed of any unusual or significant findings concerning their patients.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned consistent with professional credentials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Triages patient phone calls when needed.
  • Attends required meetings and training. Participates in committees if requested.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Works closely with site manager and physicians with respect to hours, efficient patient flow and appropriate use of provider resources.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Complies with all Clinic policies

Education :

Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program

Certification / Licensure :

  • Current licensure in Nevada state as a PA or NP with prescriptive authority.
  • Current certification
  • CPR certification for Health Care Providers .

Physical Requirements :

Hearing : Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.

Speaking : Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.

Vision : Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.

Other : Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients or in surgeries when required.

Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite health care service, including injections.

Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.

Requires exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
