About The Role :

Stackline is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Scientist supporting the Sales vertical. This role will tackle the complex challenges of forecasting sales for online products and identifying the relationships that drive customer purchasing decisions.

In this role, you will collaborate with leading consumer brands, leveraging data and technology to uncover insights, enhance decision-making, and drive transformative changes in their businesses.

As a Data Scientist, you will utilize your expertise to analyze and derive insights from vast data pipelines, processing, ingesting, and cleansing billions of data points each week.

You will work closely with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Product Management teams to deliver high-qualify data products.

This is a hands-on position that involves substantial coding, alongside architecting, developing, and testing new models.

What You Will Do :

  • Conduct end-to-end analyses, from gathering data requirements to data processing and modeling.
  • Architect data and modeling pipelines and take ownership of end-to-end machine learning (ML) pipelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities that require modern analytical and modeling techniques.
  • Design algorithms for outlier detection and build sales forecasting prediction models.
  • Utilize existing insights and develop new strategies to drive the product strategy.

What We Are Looking For :

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • 2-3+ years of direct industry work as an applied scientist or data scientist.
  • 2-3+ years of demonstratable experience with statistics and probability.
  • Comfortable in a business and technical context, interacting with executives and technical audiences.
  • Solid theoretical understanding of machine learning concepts, such as classification, neural networks, and regression models.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and proficiency in Python coding.
  • Experience and command of SQL.
  • Demonstrated experience with machine learning tools like scikit-learn or TensorFlow, including model development, validation, and deployment.

Bonus Points If You Have :

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience with big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
  • Experience using scikit-learn to build complex regression, classification, and clustering models.
  • Experience using deep learning libraries for time series analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing new ideas, working closely with technical teams from concept generation through implementation.
  • Experience working in a startup, retail, digital advertising, or ecommerce environment.

Actual salaries are just one component of the compensation package and may vary above or below the range based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, location, and performance.

The pay range for this position in Seattle is $139,000 - 165,000 per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and other team-specific awards.
